I am having a very hard time with the Democrat party...it seems to me that the 'cronies' are all in that party....
What say you?
Heres a good example...this is about Pelousi...the woman that was on c-span the other day and with a straight face telling the American People that this 'bill' was a wonderful stimulous bill for the American People...
What a liar...it was more pork than stimulous..
It was a pay off for campaign supporters such as Acorn...in particular...AT THE EXPENSE OF THE TAXPAYER..
Should not the Democrats pay off their friends with their own money?
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS SPENDING OUR TAX MONEY TO PAY OFF CAMPAIGN SUPPORTERS..
As Republican...I am offended...I cant stand Acorn...I dont believe in welfare in the condition it is in today...etc.

In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25, Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than their competition's.
Last week when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an 'economic development credit in American Samoa '.

Yep. You get used to this. The neo-cons are so brainwashed, they can't see their own culpability in the mess we're currently in. "Blame the Democrats," they cry. "Everything that is wrong with the world is the fault of the liberals."
Sometimes I wonder if the great liberal experiment (i.e. democracy, capitalism, civil rights, and so on) was a bit premature. It's obvious that a great subset of society wasn't ready to think for themselves, and will blindly follow the demagoguery of power-mad leaders...

I read a book in the late 60s or early 70s that I can't for the life of me think of the title of or the author, but it was about parallels and comparisons between the last days of the Roman empire and America then. I didn't give it a lot of thought, but the last chapter was things to look for in the future to indicate that America was still on the downward slide.
2 things I remember were the elimination of the middle class and resulting us vs. them conflicts between the haves and the have nots.....and reaching a point where such a large % of the population demanded and received govt. subsistence and handouts that it put an unbearable burden on the govt. and what was left of the still productive population to sustain them...

Its not that Im obsessed..its just what is happening...
Like I have said before...all the 'troubles' seem to come from the left...all these 'causes'...
they are taking away the peace and serenity of our nation...No one can relax anymore due to global warming farce...taxing cow farts...EPA invasion of business's....campfire bans...smoking bans...going green...dont use your old light bulbs that fit your fancy lamps, we have to use those curly ones I dont like.....dont eat meat....dont drink milk...they harrass the farming community...they harrass the cattle industry...they harrass the slaughter plants....they wont let us slaughter old horses...and on and on..
Just who do they think they are?
We have never had to undergo all of this until the last 20 years or so..Im just tired of all the conflict that the liberals cause...Can you understand that at all?
Life used to be fun and easy and quite..Now its constant conflict..fighting for my way of life...fighting to keep my business...watching my friends loose [/B]everything![B]watching my clients possibly loosing their business's...
Its just not peaceful anymore..
I trully believe that when the liberal found they could make a living off of government grants...they have to have a 'cause' so they can continue receiving their 'free money' ...our money..the taxpayers money..
We give them our tax money...then they come after us to put us out of business or harass us...Im tired of it...

What have they done to your 'personal' life..
Dont use the financial crisis because as I pointed out in another post...the Democrats were at the root of this whole mess...they were in charge of that part of the government and corruption took its course..Even Bill Clinton said so on television.
Tell me what the conservatives have done that was so wrong...ok?
Im asking you this because you are right...it is sometimes hard to see in ones own backyard..so have at it...

While I don't agree with everything the poster says, like that ALL the problems come from the left...(it's actually just a lot of them...), I do agree with quite a bit of it and all I read is someone's assessment of something as she sees it...
I see no more doom & gloom in her opinions than I saw from a bunch of the lefties postings (some that I agreed with!!) while lil Bushie was still prez...

Yeah, but while shrub was on Pennsylvania Avenue, we did get into an undeclared war with no exit strategy and no end in sight, the housing bubble did burst and the economy has bottomed out worse than at any time since the 1920s. I'm still amazed that the Republican-controlled Congress who blithely wrote up and passed everything shrub wanted and went 6 years without a veto are somehow absolved from any responsibility for any of this mess.

A president CAN NOT go to war with out the backing of the congress...He didnt do this alone..but also with MANY democrats as well..

The housing bubble was not the fault of Republicans...but of the Democrats forcing fannie mae and freddie mac to give loans to unqualified people...Bush tried to warn the congress, in particular Barny Frank several years ago that there was an impending crash..But Barny said "alls well"...
Bush is not a CEO of a company...he is a president and there are checks and balances in place..He can only do so much.....

And you're wrong about Libby...he was most certainly an integral part of the whole Valerie Plame (definitely a Bond Babe quality spy!!) outing affair and resulting coverup...loyalist that he was, he took a bullet for the team...
His doing...his choice...his problem...
Which was lessened greatly by his PARDON!!!

Was he pardoned, alive? I hadn't heard that. Last I heard, his sentence was only commuted. (Same thing, but he's still a convicted law-breaker. Don't know if it was a felony or misdemeanor.)

I cannot believe people have so little common sense as to believe that there was EVER any legislation saying "You have to loan people money, even if they don't meet the criteria to pay back the loan." That is complete and utter hogwash. Show me any legislation or any policy that said you have to overlook bad credit histories or lack of income and advance loans to people with no reasonable expectation of it being repaid.
Do you have any idea how idiotic it makes one appear to keep repeating a discredited argument?
