Did you watch A-Rod's performance when he got caught juicing? Pretty sincere looking huh?
Like they say, you can score points faking a lot of things, but once you are able to fake sincerity, well ... then you can be a politician!
Nice try A-Rod, but ever notice how none of these guys give any of these apologies UNTIL THEY ARE CAUGHT?

Didn't surprise me at all. Nor did I take his fake apology for anything more than it was... fake and rehearsed, like you said, only because he got caught.

Okay, I'm not exactly an A-Rod fan either, but really. Mediocre? Yes, He is a phony & yes, his apology was as phony as a politicians, but mediocre? He has been many things over his career, but he has never been mediocre, during the regular season that is.
As for his apology only coming after he was caught, again, big deal. Name me one player, movie star, politician or captain of industry who has ever admitted to wrong doing that would negatively impact his/her career and issued an apology BEFORE he/she was caught. Hell, most of them continue to deny it even when it is obvious that they are guilty.
Is A-Rod a saint? No, obviously he isn't. Then again, name me one MLB player that you can prove to have been steroid free for his entire career. BTW, I'm not saying that they all did it, or that the fact that steroid use was so pervasive in MLB excuses his use of them. He was wrong to use them.
Then again, MLB was wrong not to have a steroid policy in place. The union was wrong to oppose putting the policy in place. The fans were wrong to turn a blind eye to what was going on. Most of all, the baseball writers, who are now so morally offended by steroid use (by players that they don't like), said absolutely nothing about them for more than a decade, in full knowledge of their use. All are complicit in the abuse of steroids by the players. As a fan of the game, I'm just not enough of a hypocrite to be all that bothered by it.

A-Fraud is pleading "dumb". I'm not buying he is that dumb. Although, Manny Ramirez, on the other hand, probably thinks that the Flintstone chewable vitamins he takes every morning are actually banned steroids and is hoping that nobody finds out.
