"The government cannot give to anyone, anything that it does not first take from someone else."

Dear fellow employees:

As the CFO of this business that employees 140 people, I have resigned
myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is now our President and
that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases I figure that the Clients will have
to see an increase in our fees to them of about 8%, but since we
cannot increase our fees right now due to the dismal state of our
economy, we will have to lay off six of our employees instead. This
has really been eating at me for a while, as we believe we are family
here and I didn't know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did. I strolled through our parking lot and found 6
Obama bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these
folks will be the first to be laid off. I can't think of a more fair
way to approach this problem. These folks wanted change; I gave it to
them.

Sincerely,

The Boss

Welp, I guess I'd be 86'd, then, cuz I proudly display my Obama/Biden '08 sticker in my rear window.

I noticed that too Ono...but I read the letter a couple of times and the message isn't to the "fellow employees", but to the boss...Obama, the top Chief Financing Officer over the CFO of that company.

Gosh, you'd think a CFO would actually know how to spell the President's name correctly. And as his lack of ability, acumen and spelling smarts have brought his company to the brink, he should lose his job.

he begins the letter "Dear employee's", and signs of "the boss".

Oh and I agree BTW that this would be a big lawsuit if anyone really did this, especiall if they ever saw this thread.

OK, I agree that this letter/joke is sort of silly, but I am wondering about the basis of the lawsuit. Does a statement of political preference create a protected group under EEOC? In the event of lay-offs isn't the selection generally subjective anyway? The memo does not purport to fire people from their jobs because of political preference, merely uses a bumper sticker as a means for selecting who will be pruned.

Anyone dumb enough to select employees based on their political preferences isn't going to be around long enough to worry about anyway.

Which is only relevant, of course, if you plan on selling your car.

It WAS a joke.

Hence my comment about "Wrong forum." We have an entire forum dedicated to jokes.

And I'd LOVE to see some executive stupid enough to put out a memo like that...
