He would if Former Alabama Democratic Governor Don Siegelma had anything to do with it.... Rove received a third subpoena on February 13 relating to Siegelman and his alleged involvement in the firing of US Attorneys, and is scheduled to appear today. The House Judiciary Committee, the White House and Rove are said to be in negotiations.
Siegelman believes that the topic of these negotiations is Rove's demand for immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony. He does not believe that Rove would risk showing up and testifying under oath and answer truthfully without immunity.
“Rove will never show up under oath and answer truthfully," Siegelman said. "He can't because he is guilty as sin.”
“He should ultimately go to jail for contempt, for perjury or for his abuse of power,” the ex-governor added. “He must not be granted immunity. Giving him immunity will just ensure that he will not tell the whole truth.” read whole story here
Strong stuff here. But something tells me that Rove will never see a day behind bars.

“He must not be granted immunity. Giving him immunity will just ensure that he will not tell the whole truth.” I don't understand why the person would not tell the whole truth if he had immunity. Heck, he could even brag about it and nothing would happen to him.

What I understood, or what I believed Mr. Canary to be saying, was that he had had this ongoing conversation with Karl Rove about Don Siegelman, and that Don Siegelman was a thorn to them and basically he was going to -- he had been talking with Rove. Rove had been talking with the Justice Department, and they were pursuing Don Siegelman as a result of Rove talking to the Justice Department at the request of Bill Canary.

Considering Siegelman is out of prison (serving 7 years on 33 counts), for his appeal and for him to get out he needs to have "evidence" that he was not guilty when he was sentenced at his own trial. So he is trying to gather evidence of Rove to prove his innocense. The court will not consider evidence with out documentation proof and does not convict upon hearsay alone. Lots of formers are being dragged into this appeal and since Rove has already been sup.
Rove received a subpoena in 2007 from Senator Patrick J. Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee to present himself before the Committee. Due to not complying with the subpoena, Congressional voting as we know, took place and ruled Rove to be under contempt of Congress. I would expect the next move to be the Sergant of Arms to make an arrest and bring him to the Congressional chamber for subjective crimes.
We will see how all this goes through the iron curtain of politics.

What matters is if Rove is guilty or not or what Siegelman claims. And I would say there's a lot more basis to his claims than heresay considering Rove has demanded immunity from presecution.

Just another one to put behind bars that hasn't did a violent crime. Yep, that where I want my tax dollars going.

Why should Karl Rove go to jail? As far as I know of, it is NOT a federal offense to be White House Deputy Chief of Staff or the "archetech" of a host of Republican electoral victories.
Those who want Karl Rove's head on a silver platter are merely idealogues who deal in demented dreams.
Karl Rove got a clean bill of health from the Special Prosecutor and that pretty much establishes Karl Rove as "Mr Clean" and not jail bird material.

I'm not quite sure why Rove can refuse to testify. Doesn't a Congressional subpoena carry any weight? He can take the Fifth, but he can't refuse to show up...

25 years later there are still those who want to put Henry Kissinger in jail for war crimes. Hasn't happened yet. Won't happen with Rove either.

Did Kissinger ever refuse to testify before congress, or use his power and influence to have anyone persecuted like Rove did, or allegedly did ? Was Kissinger a power hungry freak that made money off our soldiers at war, or help fabricated stories about weapons of mass destruction ? Was Kissinger allergic to our constitution, like Rove seems to be, except in cases when it suits him to evoke it's protections; or where he only imagines it does ?
