Under the reform we're proposing, if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.

You will not be waiting in any lines. This is not about putting the government in charge of your health insurance. I don't believe anyone should be in charge of your health insurance decisions but you and your doctor. (Applause.) I don't think government bureaucrats should be meddling, but I also don't think insurance company bureaucrats should be meddling. That's the health care system I believe in. .....Under the reform we're proposing, insurance companies will be prohibited from denying coverage because of a person's medical history. Period.......Now, when we pass health insurance reform, insurance companies will no longer be able to place some arbitrary cap on the amount of coverage you can receive in a given year or a lifetime. And we will place a limit on how much you can be charged for out-of-pocket expenses, because no one in America should go broke because they get sick. ...And finally -- this is important -- we will require insurance companies to cover routine checkups and preventive care, like mammograms and colonoscopies ......

....So this is what reform is about. For all the chatter and the yelling and the shouting and the noise, what you need to know is this: If you don't have health insurance, you will finally have quality, affordable options once we pass reform. (Applause.) If you do have health insurance, we will make sure that no insurance company or government bureaucrat gets between you and the care that you need. And we will do this without adding to our deficit over the next decade, largely by cutting out the waste and insurance company giveaways in Medicare that aren't making any of our seniors healthier.

Laidback...from what the reform bill is proposing, is that a team of Commissioners will be in charge of the affordability department. They will determine what treatments will be affordable and what will not be affordable.

wrong....

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2009/06/04/obama_lays_out_healthcare_overhaul/?page=2

..To find more savings in Medicaid and Medicare, Obama said he would consider a significant change in the workings of a commission of leading health economists and other specialists that advises Congress on changes to Medicare. Congress currently has to enact the panel's recommendations for them to become law.

Under one proposed approach, the commission's recommendations would become law unless Congress objected - a process similar to the one used to close military bases in the last two decades and one sure to be controversial among doctors and hospitals. They have strongly resisted some of the commission's ideas, such as lowering payments, and have successfully lobbied Congress to ignore them.

The proposal "would really change the game," said John Rother, director of legislation and public policy for AARP, which represents Americans over age 50.

"It would move reimbursement toward a more expert-based and less politically-based system, and I think it's probably a positive," he said. "But I'm sure you'd get a different view from provider groups."

I don't follow your question

Perhaps this sight that the White House set up will help you.

There is a lot of misinformation being spread by defenders of the status quo. Find out what's in health insurance reform for you, and what's not in it at all.

Do you think that perhaps of the reason that those are against it are worried it effect their health care? When it really is an insurance reform?

From the White House Blog.

Facts, Falsehoods and the Benefits of Reform in Portsmouth
Posted by Katherine Brandon
The President hosted a town hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on health insurance reform, telling the crowd, "I don't think government bureaucrats should be meddling, but I also don't think insurance company bureaucrats should be meddling. That's the health care system I believe in." The President was introduced by Lori, a woman who can’t find coverage because of her medical condition. We all know someone like Lori who has been discriminated against because of pre-existing conditions, and can't receive the care they need. This is a personal issue for the President, who recounted his mother's battle with insurance companies as she battled with cancer in the last months of her life.
The President outlined how his plan will end these unfair, and often deadly, practices:
Under the reform we're proposing, insurance companies will be prohibited from denying coverage because of a person's medical history. Period. (Applause.) They will not be able to drop your coverage if you get sick. (Applause.) They will not be able to water down your coverage when you need it. (Applause.) Your health insurance should be there for you when it counts -- not just when you're paying premiums, but when you actually get sick. And it will be when we pass this plan. (Applause.)
Now, when we pass health insurance reform, insurance companies will no longer be able to place some arbitrary cap on the amount of coverage you can receive in a given year or a lifetime. And we will place a limit on how much you can be charged for out-of-pocket expenses, because no one in America should go broke because they get sick. (Applause.)
And finally -- this is important -- we will require insurance companies to cover routine checkups and preventive care, like mammograms and colonoscopies -- (applause) -- because there's no reason we shouldn't be catching diseases like breast cancer and prostate cancer on the front end. That makes sense, it saves lives; it also saves money -- and we need to save money in this health care system.
So this is what reform is about. (Applause.) Right. (Laughter.)
You may have heard some of this "chatter" and false claims about the President's health care plan. As the President explained, this is to be expected, as proponents of the status quo fight against reform:
But let's face it, now is the hard part -- because the history is clear -- every time we come close to passing health insurance reform, the special interests fight back with everything they've got. They use their influence. They use their political allies to scare and mislead the American people. They start running ads. This is what they always do.

Obamas words mean nothing....

This man has lied way to much for me to believe anything out of his mouth..

hes isnt even qualified to be POTUS...He is there only by lying and deceiving the people..

This healthcare plan is ONLY FOR ILLEGALS..AND THE CHEAP LABOR THAT BEING BROUGHT TO THIS NATION at a time when many Americans are out of work...the cheap labor that is provided corporations thru the HB-1 visas..

Obama care is NOT for Americans..but moreso for illegals..and immigrant workers under visas....at our expense..

We do not need to turn our country upside down..

I have no idea how any of you can beleive a word out of this mans mouth after all the crap that is going on in his administration..and the people that he has surrounded himself with...

His many many Czars he had surrounded himself with answerable ONLY to him...thus bypassing the congress that the PEOPLE OF AMERICA have voted to represent them..

Hes a dictator...in the making...

I do not trust him and will never support any socialist crap he brings to the table..

Its funny that we built a strong and powerful nation without socialism..now..all of a sudden...this new generation of socialist deem everything we do as wrong..and in need of change...

These are the actions of despots and dictators....and you are the useful idiots that Nikita Kruchev talked about..

Good Luck in the New World Order!

In the words of William Kostric...He carrys a gun because he feels if you dont excercise your rights...you will loose them..

In reality..he broke no laws...he was well within his rights to be there with a gun..

In New Hampshire..its very legal to carry a gun...and the gun WAS NOT CONCEALED...it was strapped right in public on his leg...

These days.when people have fell so far away from the constitution..its not surprising that you have forgotten your constitutional rights...

In the constitution..guns are legal...there is a 2nd amendment to provide that freedom for us..

It is proven..that when the public is armed..there is FAR LESS CRIME....

such as in the case of Washington DC...when they banned firearms..crime rose significantly....So ...they had to repeal the gun ban..The sad thing is this...many people died during that gun ban...

I deem the nut job gun control advocates are responsible for these folks deaths..Their blood in on their hands in my opinion..

They had no right to ban guns...its unconstitutional..

these days..there doesnt seem to be any law...a man can become the president of the USA all based on lies and purgery.....

So why have laws in the first place if the people holding the highest office dont even obey them..

Thats even more reason to own firearms for protection...You never know what those nut jobs will do next..

If your too open minded..your brains will spill out..

Good Luck...In the New World Order.

he lies about the AARP not once but twice(i know he just misspoke).
What lies did he tell about AARP? Despite assertions from AARP to the effect of:
The AARP has not endorsed any health care plan that is currently being considered by Congress.

Obama's false claim of an AARP endorsement caused the AARP issue a denial:

"While the President was correct that AARP will not endorse a health care reform bill that would reduce Medicare benefits, indications that we have endorsed any of the major health care reform bills currently under consideration in Congress are inaccurate."
AARP denies endorsement

However, with AARP releases like this: AARP - Debunking healthcare reform myths, it's pretty obvious why Obama characterized them as "on board."

But then I wouldn't trust ANY politician .How do you tell when they are lying their lips move . I agree something needs to be done about health care , but big brother is not going to do what is best for you , have we learned NOTHING in 200 years . If it is such a great system that is being put in place why don't they mandate that ALL politicians in EVERY office be required to be a part of it Yes that would include obama boy and his gang and all politicians all the crooks in office Republican, Independent AND DEMOCRATS Change is coming bend on over
