The gun toting, ignorant, white, older, southern Republican was actually a young, not-so-politically correct, black guy...
...so MSNBC only showed the guys back and guns when they talked about racism...

now lacy......
so MSNBC only showed the guys back and guns when they talked about racism... the point was.. that this guy was not the only one.. but I bet it was the most graphic footage that they had of this (legal) stupidity..
the fact that he was black has nothing to do with the story... as there were more white people with guns......that the cameraman did not focus on...
which is the story??
white vs black..( your focus???)
or men with their toys??
...

Maybe they did not see a black man with a gun, but just a man with a gun.Ya know, some people dont see race, unless its to make white people look bad.

"A man at a pro-healthcare reform rally just outside wore a semi-automatic assault rifle on his shoulder...and a pistol on his hip. the associated press reports about a dozen people in all at that event were...visible...also there are questions about whether this has a racial overtones...I mean, here you have a man of color in the presidency and white people showing up with guns strapped to their waists..." MSNBC reporter.

which is the story?? The story is that MSNBC wanted to make this about race -- when that was not where it started out at all.

OK, I admit I was in a hurry and halfway watched the video. Please forgive me.I am like you, I do not believe there is as much racism around as some people make it out to be. I just did see Gallows video.I am with him on this one. I do not believe he was beaten as bad as he was pretending. But a lot of black people have claimed they get called racial names and severe beatings when there is any kind of conflict with white people. It just happens to be white people representing liberals are being accused this time by a black man.Of course, I have no idea if its true or not.I believe each party will only show it as they want it to be seen. And with Rodney King, I do believe he was wrongly beaten.
Gallows, I am sorry I had to agree with you point. I promise to try not to agree with you in the future. But sometimes I might have too.
But a lot of black people have claimed they get called racial names and severe beatings when there is any kind of conflict with white people. Just wanted to add, at least thats how the media makes it out to me.

I guess you did not notice that the Gladney's attackers were black, not white... Of course, again that does not fit the narrative...
Where too is coverage of the woman maced after being subdued -- merely for taking pictures of the police actions? Oh yes, it does not fit the narrative...
Oh, and there are certain levels of getting beaten that are ok? and racial slurs should only be noted when they are (evil) white on black?

It seems that black opposition to Obama is not news, not even when they are beaten or heavily armed... Sure, it's news, but not necessarily newsworthy.
Pajamas Media began in 2005 as an affiliation of 90 of the most influential weblogs on the Internet. They were linked together as an advertising network, but the intention was to provide a significant alternative to mainstream media. Two years later PJM has expanded its reach. Besides adding to its blog network, through its portal, PJM now provides exclusive news and opinion 24/7 in text, video and podcast from correspondents in over forty countries. Pajamas Media also has its own weekly show on XM satellite radio – PJM Political – and syndicates its original material like a news agency. Except when the medium is a collection of blogs.

I guess you did not notice that the Gladney's attackers were black, not white I looked at the vedio again. I could not tell, but I will take your word for it. I came across this.
Union Calls for Civil Discourse Prior to Alleged Beating at Town Hall
I was hoping to find the race of the attackers. All I found was this concerning race. No mention of the race of the attackers, just Gladneys.
Gladney, who is black
Oh, and there are certain levels of getting beaten that are ok? I can think of a few levels.
and racial slurs should only be noted when they are (evil) white on black? It seems for the media, only white on black is news worthy.

Cowboy, Do you believe white opposition to Obama is not news worthy, or just black opposition? Just a curious question.
I wish everyone could see that the media is playing a lot of people with they way the report news. They keep us divided. They seem to make everything a white/black or Christian/Muslim thing.

Cowboy, Do you believe white opposition to Obama is not news worthy, or just black opposition? Just a curious question. I don't believe in oversimplifying complex issues. I live in a majority minority state. Intercultural relations here go far beyond Black/White & Christian/Muslim. As far as opposition to the POTUS is concerned, there's plenty of poll numbers to out there which will break down support of/opposition to the President along demographic lines.
Both sides of the political spectrum complain about the media. Of course, if you want to make a claim about the media, you have to define what "the media" means, since even MD is a medium.
I am not concerned with media coverage so much as I am concerned with policy. All the finger pointing about press coverage is silly. If you want policy changed, write to your representatives. Call your friends and ask them to do the same. Work with organizations to effect the change you desire.
And here's a suggestion for you, Arieann: Vote.

so MSNBC only showed the guys back and guns when they talked about racism... MSNBC and other news networks use racism a lot when its not there.
Of course, if you want to make a claim about the media, you have to define what "the media" means, since even MD is a medium. I refuse to participate in you changing the subject to what "the media" means.
Sure, it's news, but not necessarily newsworthy. I think you, and people like you, dont want it in the news because it makes it harder to claim racism for people opposing anything Obama does.

I think you, and people like you, dont want it in the news because it makes it harder to claim racism for people opposing anything Obama does. Think what you want. Personally, I wonder why you repeatedly bring up racial issues on MD and do so on a much more frequent basis than I do.
What in God's name do you mean by "claim[ing] racism for people opposing anything Obama does?" Can you name a single instance in which I claimed that anyone opposed the Obama Administration due to racism?
Then again, what difference does any of this make? I'm dealing with someone who doesn't care enough about public policy to even vote.

No matter... those who don't vote have voluntarily relinquished their right to have a voice in society, so what you say means nothing.

What I want to know is, why hasn't the news reported on the fact that a recent survey suggests that the biggest source of skepticism against Obama is concentrated among white Southerners (to an extent that is THREE TO FIVE TIMES any other racial/regional grouping)? That would certainly seem newsworthy, wouldn't it?
