Its not the fact that he said it...hell, the guy is a liar! However, if you are going to have the BALLS to bark something like that out on the House floor...at least have the nerve to stand with it and DON'T apologize afterward for Pete sake. You make yourself look weak and worse for the apology, then just sticking to your guns and standing by what you said.
The best part wasn't what he said, rather, the look on Dragon Lady Pelosi afterward........PRICELESS!!!!!

As has been posted elsewhere, the bills being considered specifically exclude illegal aliens from the program. It's in the text of the bills. It's in plain English. It can't be any clearer. But you'll always have someone searching the text with a fine-tooth comb, trying to find some hidden passage to justify their paranoia.
So Rep. Wilson has shown (1) he lacks civility; (2) he's extremely partisan; (3) he believes the propaganda; and (4) he's willing to lie on national television.

I thought Nancy Pelosi's head was going to explode!! Boy, she was pissed!! The President handled it well. I think thats the first time Ive ever seen the President heckled while addressing congress.

LJ, both Democrats AND Republicans have been condemning Rep. Wilson. It was unprecedented. In the living memory of all those politicians (and considering some of them have been on Capitol Hill for more than four decades...), this breach of decorum has never happened before.

Well, Burns, I was going to point out that he is deep in the South, and that most of these representatives and senators are in fairly bullet-proof districts anymore. A lot of them are much more popular in their home districts than they are on the national stage. However, this was on Wiki: In the 2006 elections, he defeated Ellisor again, gaining 62.7 % of the vote, and kept his House seat.
In the 2008 general election, he won 54% of the vote to Rob Miller's 46%, the closest race in the district in 20 years. Sounds to me like the guy maybe should be paying a little more attention to those moderate voters he is going to need next year (as opposed to the nutter base that wants Palin to run for President in 2010.  ) .

Ah, but did the Democrats base their alleged outburst on facts, or on propaganda? Because Rep. Wilson most definitely ignored the very clear language in the bills being considered which explicitly said "no money for illegal aliens."
In any event, he's receiving rebukes (public ones, at least) from the Republicans as well as the Democrats. And it's likely he'll lose his postings on the high-priority committees. And his potential challenger in 2010 is receiving a ton of money from the publicity.

First of all, i want to point out that illegal aliens are receiving free prenatal, natal and post natal care, ass well as free formula, and care seats, and a long list of " free items" paid for by our tax dollars.........
Items that that very few citizens can receive, because you must prove income.....
But to get back to the belief that illegals will be excluded can be dispelled with only one word.......
Amnesty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Something Obama has already made clear was part of his agenda if elected.....
But hey......... all it's going to take is time........... We shall soon see who is lying.....
Two bills that specifically excluded illegals have been voted down already by the democratic congress.

I don't believe that's correct. But you fail to distinguish that if the baby was born here, formula, car seat, etc., are being provided to a brand new U.S. Citizen.

You're both right........
having worked for an OB/GYN for several years, it's true, illegals get free prenatal care. All they have to do when they arrive in NC is to first get a post office box number and then make their first prenatal appointment with the local Health Dept. The physician's have a special Medicaid number they use so they'll get paid for the prenatal, delivery and postpartum care.
After the baby is delivered, he or she is entitled to all freebies because of being a U.S. citizen.

Obama has no better knowledge on how to ensure illegal immigrants are excluded from healthcare then he does on what our final objective in Afghanistan is.
If anybody thinks the cost of this program wont exceed the reported $900 billion it will cost probably voted for the liar.
Admit it Democrats,just like the Republicans...you didnt get 5 days as promised by Obama to find out about his $787 billion stimulus bill before he signed it,you got 1.
Nobody knew they would be funding abortions overseas until after that bill was signed.
Oh yeah...the bill for the State Children's Health Insurance Program? 3 hours after it was passed he signed it.

Color me confused, Jankia, but aren't we supposed to contact our representatives while a bill is still being debated in Congress? It's been a long time since my civics class, but I don't remember any stipulation in the Constitution that the President is compelled to obey the will of the people. As I understand it, the President can only approve or veto a bill and even then the rejection can be overridden by Congress or overturned by the Supreme Court.

Are you confused on how it is supposed to work? Or are you confused that the President is lying to your face, to pretend he is doing the will of the people, only to get his way?
Please compare the the last two speeches he gave...... Read them both, then tell me the similarities.
For the children of the US he states we should provide for ourselves, last night, he states it is gov'ts responsibility to care for you.
So which one do you believe is his real message?
I saw a story tonight on the NBC nightly news, please look up Fire rescue truck #10 in Washington DC, they are being called out for stubbed toes and the like..... Why, because there is a medic assigned to that one. Asked how to take certain Rx's, ect.......... they have become the town doctor.......
Just like in Gunsmoke........ Yell real loud and ol Doc will show up, except they aren't offering their chickens or goats for payment........ They expect it...... Because they feel it is free.... And they don't even have to wait in line at the ER......
What's that old saying?????? If you think healthcare is expensive now... wait till it's free?
Question, what happens if you are pulled over and provide no proof of insurance?
In most states it is a fine..... if you do not appear in court, you get a bench warent for your arrest....
How crowded are the local jails with those who could not, would not get insurance to drive their car? What would happen to those who do not " aquire " their own health insurance??
I can't help but feel we would be creating a debtors prison..... but, hey, he'll be real popular with his fans then huh ? 
Or they can just pass out free health care and tax us until we all are broke........ to pay for it....

The point was his saying this before the election..."When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as the president, you the public will have five days to look online and find out what's in it before I sign it," He lie.

Proof that one man’s loss is another man’s gain: in the hours following South Carolina’s GOP Rep. Joe Wilson’s “You lie!” outburst during President Barack Obama’s joint address to Congress Wednesday evening, his 2010 Democratic opponent has raised about $100,000 from 3,000 people, according to a spokeswoman for the House Democrats’ campaign operation.
The Democratic grassroots immediately sprang in to action last night to aid Rob Miller, an Iraq War veteran who unsuccessfully challenged Wilson in 2008 and is seeking a rematch next year.
“Defeating the man who yelled ‘liar’ at Obama: Good-bye Rep. Joe Wilson,” states ActBlue, which collects funds from small donors. At around 11:30 p.m. EDT Wednesday, they had raised $16,617 donated by 508 people.
By 8:30 a.m. EDT today, they had nearly tripled that to $48,300 from 1,437 people. The goal is to raise $100,000 for Miller.
The liberal blog DailyKos also posted on Wilson’s outburst shortly after the speech and called on their readers to donate to Miller.
UPDATE 11:25 a.m.: Miller’s fund-raising keeps climbing. A spokeswoman for the House Democrats’ campaign says he has now received more than 5,000 individual grassroots contributions raising more than $200,000. This is a notable sum. According to Wilson’s most recent filings with the Federal Election Commission, he had $211,000 cash on hand through the end of July, while Miller had reported just under $50,000.

We've been monitoring claims about health care reform and illegal immigrants for some time now. Most notably, a chain e-mail claimed that page 50 of the House bill gave free health care to illegal immigrants. That page didn't say that. Rather, it included a generic nondiscrimination clause that said insurers may not discriminate with regard to "personal characteristics extraneous to the provision of high quality health care or related services." So we rated the chain e-mail's claim Pants on Fire .
We read all 1,000-plus pages of the health care bill and were struck by the fact that it is largely silent on health care for illegal immigrants. Keep in mind that experts estimated there were 6.8 million uninsured illegal immigrants in the United States in 2007, out of a total of 11.9 million illegal immigrants. Right now, there are laws on the books that require hospitals to treat severely ill people who arrive at the hospital, regardless of immigration status, and we didn't see anything that would change those laws, either.
Most illegal immigrants are also now excluded from Medicaid, the government-run health care for the poor. We didn't see anything that would change that.
One place where the bill does mention immigration status is for "affordability credits." These are tax credits for people of modest means need to buy health insurance. The credits would help them buy insurance on a national health insurance exchange. The bill specifically says that people in the United States illegally are not eligible for tax credits, on page 132, section 242.
Still, given all that, we have heard from people who said that other aspects of reform could benefit illegal immigrants.
One of the most detailed responses was from the anti-immigration group Federation for American Immigration Reform, called FAIR. You can read their statement on the matter on their Web site.
