I was sitting here thinking. Maybe we should give the state of Louisiana to the terrorist groups, providing they leave the rest of the USA alone. Its just a small portion of land compared to the rest of the country. I think we could do without it for the sake of no more terrorism. Who agrees?

If your going to do that you might as well give them all of our weapon grade plutonium to so they will leave us alone with our Thermonuclear fusion bombs. Its just a small portion of fission material compared to the mightier fusion.

dixie Thats my daughters name. I cant imagine America without her.But back to Louisiana. I dont think we should give Martygra away.I want to attend someday. If we gave Louisiana to the terrorist, we could make them cut it off America and take it with them. I cant imagine where they would put it. And if they took as much as 1/4 inch from another state, the deal would be off.

Are they still doing Mardi Gras down in the French Quarter? Or have the refugees to other states taken the tradition with them?

I believe the answer is rather obvious : Louisiana is not more important to population of Carolina than Carolina is important to population of Louisiana... The point is - you cannot possibly "donate" something that's not yours , arieann, it doesn't work this way. You can , though , start proposing sacrifice of YOUR state of residency to terrorists - and in case you have enough neighbors to join you in hopes to satisfy terrorists ( who, by their very nature, cannot possbly be satisfied - ever) , your effort might be seen as patriotic. See - giving away your own life for the cause is sort of heroism , giving away the other people's lives is a crime.

NewLife: giving away the other people's lives is a crime. ....Good point!
....Now, would you explain that to the Socialist Liberals in this country and our government? All they do is give away the lives of other people... to themselves.

Ann: I was sitting here thinking. Maybe we should give the state of Louisiana to the terrorist groups, providing they leave the rest of the USA alone ...The Cajuns, from what is actual Louisiana today, helped to defeat the British in our Revolutionary War.
...Surely there is a more deserving state?
...Oh, I know... how about a major city or two?
...Let's see, NYC, Chicago, LA, etc. are all self defined sanctuary cities for Illegal aliens and refuse to cooperate with INS (immigration).
...In fact, NYC's Rudy Giuliani fought for Illegal alien protection, city police could not arrest or even ask, all the way to the Supreme Court, lost and a week later, his protected Illegal aliens enacted 9-11, killing thousands of Americans and subsequently, thousands more with this war.
...Now, there is a Republican that deserves to be tried and hanged, but the majority voted him in and then ran him for President. I am surprised Rudy did not later run on the Obama ticket, but for all practical purposes, Biden was stupid enough.
Shall we vote?

Speaking of NYC...how about this one...hot off the wire!
Feds: Zazi trips, shopping led to NY terror threat (Yahoo News) 3 mins ago (how's that for speedy cyber news delivery!)
NEW YORK – It was midsummer in suburban Denver when an unassuming, bearded man pushed a red shopping cart between shelves stacked with hair coloring and nail polish remover.
By the time Najibullah Zazi checked into a nearby hotel suite with a kitchen in September, he had at least 18 bottles of peroxide-based hair lighteners and pages of notes for how to turn the beauty products into bombs, authorities say.
Prosecutors say the otherwise mundane movements of the 24-year-old airport shuttle driver — who sold Wall Streeters coffee for years from his cart in downtown Manhattan and returned to the spot, not far from ground zero, on his recent two-day trip to the city — masked a dire terrorist threat.
The peroxide purchases, Zazi's prayer at a local mosque on the eve of his planned attack and a cross-country trip back to his Queens neighborhood, authorities say, are steps in his evolution from a struggling immigrant who was a teenager on Sept. 11, 2001, to a full-blown terrorist plotting to bomb the city on the attacks' eighth anniversary.
Many questions about charges that Zazi became a terrorist over the past year — and who was helping him — remain unanswered. Prosecutors refer to "others" who accompanied him on an August 2008 flight to Pakistan for terrorism training, by which time he had come to authorities' attention, and who shopped with him in Aurora, Colo., for chemicals that could be turned into bombs. But neither accomplices nor explosives has turned up; Zazi's father and a Queens imam face charges only of lying to terrorism investigators, and they deny the allegations.
Zazi, jailed on charges of conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction, publicly proclaimed his innocence in recent days to anyone who asked. His plainspoken defense to The Associated Press outside his Colorado home days before his arrest: "I'm an airport driver, and that's all I can say."
Zazi "maintains that he was not part of a terrorist cell," his attorney Arthur Folsom said Friday.
But information from court papers, interviews with friends and relatives and an e-mail trail stretching from Pakistan to Colorado portray a terrorism suspect who until last year had led an unremarkable, working-class immigrant's life.
Zazi was born in Afghanistan in 1985, moving with his parents and siblings to neighboring Pakistan at age 7, his family said. At 14 — two years before the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center — he moved to America, settling in Queens to join family members who made livings as cab drivers and operators of curbside coffee stands. Looks like they could put Miss Lady Clairol behind locked bars in the stores...

The terrorist would not want NC. Its a boring state. Sure there are a few things around here, but nothing you cant find in SC, Tenn, or Va. Think of it, when you think of going on an exciting vacation, do you think of NC.

Napa: Psst. People, this is supposed to be a FUN thread. Not yet another "bash other forum members" thread... ...Maybe inform us of what time of the day your comprehension level peaks, so we will know when to post just for you.
...Nobody bashed "other forum members."

I do not eat oysters, clams or catfish. I only eat fish that looks like a fish. And salt water, not fresh water.
