Obama must increase strenth of forces in Afghanistan to realize complete victory and stability in that country.

...You don't like Huckabee? ... He seems rather down to earth to me and besides a few screw ups, his principles appear consistent, rather than like throwing the Rev. Wright under the bus at the first chance and changing opinion with the time of day; like him or not, at least you know where Huckabee stands. I can respect and work with that consistency a lot more, than what I have seen out of Obama thus far.

We should all be proud that our president won the award.
BJ864, THere is not thing one Obama has done to be proud of him for. Not one thing unless it is:
Taking over the car industry,
Spening billions on a stimulus package which has been a failure.
Doesn't know what is in the health bill he is pushing.
And, there was just 11 days from the time Obama took office until the last nomination could be made for the Peace Prize. So, tell me, what did Obama do in those 11 short days to earn this? Nothing, you can't name a thing, zilch.

Ahhh... but he had "vision". He has the "intent" to do things. He is currently "in the process" of doing things. And now, after winning the NPP, he has "a call to action" to actually do these things.
Funny, I thought awards were won on action, not on intent. After all, the old adage is "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". But it seems, to the NPP, that good intentions are enough.
Every Miss America should win an NPP as most of them, in their speeches, say they want world peace. And because of their "intent" - should they not also win an award?
In fact, I would venture to say that most individuals should receive one, as most people do want world peace.
Yes, after being nominated only two weeks into his presidency, basically for his "vision", intent and campaign speeches - the esteemed award has been lowered to that of a political whore.
Whoever can shovel the most, and most convincing BS, wins.

Thought some of you might appreciate reading what President Obama sent out to his supporters:

This morning, Michelle and I awoke to some surprising and humbling news. At 6 a.m., we received word that I'd been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.
To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who've been honored by this prize -- men and women who've inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.
But I also know that throughout history the Nobel Peace Prize has not just been used to honor specific achievement; it's also been used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes.
That is why I've said that I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations and all peoples to confront the common challenges of the 21st century. These challenges won't all be met during my presidency, or even my lifetime. But I know these challenges can be met so long as it's recognized that they will not be met by one person or one nation alone.
This award -- and the call to action that comes with it -- does not belong simply to me or my administration; it belongs to all people around the world who have fought for justice and for peace. And most of all, it belongs to you, the men and women of America, who have dared to hope and have worked so hard to make our world a little better.
So today we humbly recommit to the important work that we've begun together. I'm grateful that you've stood with me thus far, and I'm honored to continue our vital work in the years to come.
