As can be seen in this more believable poll...this is more along the lines of the truth instead of that previous fictitious poll....
Gee...who knew?

Loren, the previous poll wasn't fictitious. There IS a difference between the groups "Republican" and "conservative." There's an overlap, but the number of conservatives who believe that the Republicans don't represent them is growing.
Honestly. The old saw about "there are lies, damn lies, and statistics" totally epitomizes your post. You take a statistic and attempt to misrepresent what it says.

New plan for Washington.................................. Run them all out start fresh Top vote getter is President pay $65,000. a year plus housing 2nd top vote getter is Vice President pay $50,000 a year plus housing they can share the white house we already own it. Top pay for senators and congressmen $40,000 plus housing We buy a apartment house a hour away and bus them to and from work every day. A ban on book writing, lobbying or any job connected with any business that does business with the government for 12 years after office. Must put in 20 years of service for retirement. Healthcare to be the plan they pass for the people no perks as in limos private jets etc. Then you will get people that serve because they care about the country not for the money and power

Now that would be a change we could believe in!
I've always said that politics should not be a career but a privilege.

Although I'm not a big fan of huge payouts to political leaders....
Limitting their legal income, as MrPaul suggests, creates motivation for (more) illegal income.
As for Loren's original link....uh...who didn't know?

It's been well established that if you ask the right questions..your conclusions will be justified. .. this poll is very biased torwards the right...
percentages of Americans expressing conservative views on several specific issues in 2009 than in 2008.
Perceptions that there is too much government regulation of business and industry jumped from 38% in September 2008 to 45% in September 2009. due to the economic meltdown.. the government stepped in and started telling business what to do ..I as a moderate..am not comfortable with this aspect...but do understand why it was done...
The percentage of Americans saying they would like to see labor unions have less influence in the country rose from 32% in August 2008 to a record-high 42% in August 2009. due to the auto workers union's stance in the automotive meltdown..I am irritated at this union.. but as a moderate, I am still pro .."people having the right to form a union in the........workplace... but not.. in running the government
Public support for keeping the laws governing the sale of firearms the same or making them less strict rose from 49% in October 2008 to 55% in October 2009, also a record high. (The percentage saying the laws should become more strict -- the traditionally liberal position -- fell from 49% to 44%.)\]The percentage of Americans favoring a decrease in immigration rose from 39% in June/July 2008 to 50% in July 2009. nuff said...
The propensity to want the government to "promote traditional values" -- as opposed to "not favor any particular set of values" -- rose from 48% in 2008 to 53% in 2009. Current support for promoting traditional values is the highest seen in five years. when people are afraid....they close ranks...my question is....why are people afraid today?
The percentage of Americans who consider themselves "pro-life" on abortion rose from 44% in May 2008 to 51% in May 2009, and remained at a slightly elevated 47% in July 2009. pro life.....but still giving others the right to choose....
Americans' belief that the global warming problem is "exaggerated" in the news rose from 35% in March 2008 to 41% in March 2009. still a minority....and I even believe that some aspects of global warming is exaggerated..but know that it exists..and is a problem....

Madoff got 150 years. How many years do you think the senior advisors to President Obama will be sentenced to when their time comes?

About the same as the senior advisers of Bush Jr.
They may be incompetent or overzealous or a thousand other things, but you have to prove crimes before you can sentence them. Because, you know, that whole "Bill of Rights" thing. (Would have thought you would have remembered it...)

And the margin of error is...?
And the fact that the election WON'T be held today? (I still remember the right-wingers gloating that, with months to go until last year's election, Obama was behind in the polls. "If the election was held today, Obama would be defeated. He might as well throw in the towel now." Polls change.)
