Hillary Clinton - "We (the United States) tax everything that moves and doesn’t move, and that’s not what we see in Pakistan,” she said". For once...one of the most astonishing admissions from the mouth of a true Liberal...
For once...HONESTY!

Looks like you have two "amazing incidents" here:
#1 POLITICIAN TELLS THE TRUTH Hillary admitted that our increasingly liberal government actively seeks ways to snatch the money out of our pockets.
#2 MEDIA OUTLET REPORTS THE TRUTH The Daily Times actually PRINTED a piece of truth.
[Of course, this is not particularly surprising, since the newspaper is based in PAKISTAN, not the U.S.]
The ultimate irony, of course, is that no one on this board has said a word about this ...

Third amazing thing: Partisan attacks based on a remark obviously meant as an exaggeration.

No one has said anything about it because it is not true. Her word were completely twisted into something else entirely.
Believe me when I tell you, if it were true the republican party would be all over the news with it!

"At the risk of sounding undiplomatic, Pakistan has to have internal investment in your public services and your business opportunities," she told the executives. The U.S. government taxes "everything that moves and everything that doesn't, and that's not what we see in Pakistan." Link

Which includes the part that Loren conveniently ignores. Just look how well terrorist groups thrive within the disorganization that is Pakistan. Without adequate government revenue, they can't make the concerted effort to root out the anarchist and murderous bastards.

There is a vast difference to some of us between
"The U.S. government taxes everything that moves and everything that doesn't"
and
"adequate government revenue".
Perhaps that's because some of us actually do pay taxes...

There's a difference between stating a fact and engaging in hyperbole.

So all of these lies emanating from the current administration are merely hyperbole?

“If I didn’t kick his ass every day, he wouldn’t be worth anything.”

I just wrote the newspaper to see if they can verify it or if they took it out of the Pakistan article. I will let you know when I get an answer.

I just wrote the newspaper to see if they can verify it or if they took it out of the Pakistan article. I will let you know when I get an answer. The byline accredited the story to Paul Richter who is a Los Angeles Times reporter. He, in turn, noted that "Times staff writer Alex Rodriguez in Islamabad contributed to this report."
The article was not "taken"; it was "written".

I read what was supposed to be a transcript of what she said over there and it did not contain those words. Now I don't remember where I saw that. If I don't hear back soon, I will do some research to see if I can find it again.

So, you are stating that the Los Angeles Times deliberately misrepresented what Hillary Clinton said?
How very convenient.... BWAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAA

I'm not stating that. I'm stating that printed text can't convey the underlying feelings. There are no emoticons in newspapers.

It's up to the speaker to convey her thoughts in a clear and concise manner, including any "underlying feelings". It's not up to the audience, including reporters, to try to read her body language.
If she's not up to the task, Obama needs to find someone who can. These are supposed to be the best people in the administration.
