Six bodies at US rapist's house

Six bodies have been found at the home of a convicted rapist in the US city of Cleveland, Ohio, authorities say.

Police discovered the first two bodies on Thursday when they came to arrest Anthony Sowell, 50, on a rape charge.

A third was found a day later and police have now confirmed three more. The remains were recovered in the house and inside a grave dug in the backyard.

The suspect - who spent 15 years in prison for a 1989 rape - was arrested on Saturday not far from his home.

Cuyahoga County Coroner Frank Miller said two of the bodies had been identified as black females, one of whom had died a violent death, the Associated Press reports.

Autopsies had been performed on all six, the coroner's office said, but no cause of death was announced.

Police chief Michael McGrath told a news conference that Sowell had offered no resistance when arrested, following a tip-off, while walking down the street on Saturday at around noon.

The suspect initially denied he was the man authorities were looking for, but admitted his identity as officers began fingerprinting him, police said.

Chief McGrath said the bodies were in "various states of being decomposed" and could have been in the two-storey house for up to six months.

He said Sowell had initially lived in the property with his aunt and uncle, but that his uncle had passed away and his aunt had gone to a nursing home about a year ago

Police Lt Thomas Stacho told CNN: "It was such a disgusting sight."

"I can tell you I stood outside the home for about an hour yesterday, and the stench from inside was overwhelming," he added.

Neighbours told media that the suspect made a living from looking for scrap metal to sell.

"He was crazy," said Teresa Hicks, who has known Sowell since school. "Sometimes he would just go off if he didn't have his way."

Missing-person reports are being checked dating to June 2005, when Sowell was released from prison.

Crowds have been gathering outside Sowell's home, in the city's East Side, holding posters of missing loved ones.

I dobnt care if they torture him first.

They wont, by now he will have lawyers for human rights and he will be out again within 10 years to kick start his campaign of rape all over again.

Not one country in the world views rape and abuse of women and children seriously enough. As i keep saying, we need as many countries to begin voting women for president. Only then will this kind of crime be taken seriously.

I think it will take more than a woman president to stop this kind of crime.

I hate to say this, but many religions have taught people that women are supposed to be subservient to men and that they are put here for mans gratification. That underlying belief needs to be changed, before progress can be made.

In all fairness doll, how long do women wait while little children are being injured? How long must we be told we are not good enough. Who is making women feel this way? Why? There have been excellent women leaders in this world. Why do men feel so threatened by women?

Who are the leaders, why wont they do anything worldwide? Why? Why? How long are women blamed for the worlds woes? It all started at Eve and I am supposed to accept talk like this... and for how much longer while the children suffer? No way not me, not anymore. Women for president, theres no other way. [e59]

And you know, its so easy to take the reigns now, look around you.. the world has a pathetic bunch ruling now. Any women could pop up now and say those magic words "the pedophile will be removed from society once and for all" and I know many men who would vote for her. Of course I know many women who will continue to vote for men too cos they feel inadequate in their own lives.

But here is a another thing, I am begininng to think that more men want a women to rule today than ever before, judging by my blog. Make your own mind up...

Who rules the World?

btw I have never and will never be subserviant, my father taught me to stand up for what is right. The children need our help

Please write to your congress to begin the baby steps by taking the pedophile out of society completely (dead or alive ) he must just go

cat: Up until recently women havn't even run for president . . .

bullshit, have you ever heard of Maggie Thatcher? I keep saying the WORLD, but for some reason people like you in the USA think THAT is the world duh? No its not, the US is lucky if it makes up 10% of the WORLDS landspace. Look at a map.

Also cat, if you feel women in the US are inadequate... you are entitled to your own dump opinion. I happen to know women OF THE WORLD are more than adequate. I have no clue what is wrong with you, but dont let your negativity influence those who do feel women would make an excellent change to childrens lives.

Furthermore, is it not you who keeps harping that this is a dating site and we must drop this subject altogether? Then what the f....k are you doing on threads like this?

Again ladies and gents, vote for women for president in future to make changes to childrens lives

Please see this link to find out just how capable women are in the world.

The_World_Gender_Equality_Index_2009

and no cat, i wasnt advertising myself on that thread. I just happened to mistype in my post.

It can be done

cat: What is the matter with you fool? Are you that threatened by other women that you have to watch their every word to put them down dumbo? You will notice, others knew exactly what i meant but you purposefully want to argue stupidly instead of looking for solutions for sexually abused children, Are you one of them? There has to be a reason why you make so much fun of this subject.

cat: Again, this is a dating site what are you doing on these threads if you cant offer solutions? hmmm, i think i have figured you out big time. Every time you open your mouth you expose yourself more. Actually dont let me stop you, carry on revealing your true character for all to see.

Never have I stated women are inadequate . . . those are words you typed because I prefer to vote for who I feel would do the best job as president, NOT vote based on gender.
I personally know men who are excellent dads to their sons & daughters & also know women should never have been mothers. Just because you're trying to be a "bra-burner" don't lump all men as bad fathers, husbands, & politicians . . . that's just wrong.
There are upstanding men and women in parenting & leadership responsibilities. I can see that as many others can.

The laws in most of the world (even the US) tend to be more relaxed with crimes of rape and also a death of a child.. The world doesn't seem to look at these crimes the same.. A mother or father killing there children.. look at most of the convictions.. they don't get life in prison or put to death.. they serve there time and are usually released.. Kill an adult and you go to jail for life or can be put to death.. Some countries prosecute a thief harder than someone who molests a child. We as a world don't value a child's life as important as an adult.. We don't value a woman's right to her own body.. We've made most women afraid to come forward in rape cases because we twist the blame to her.. .. We have a long way to go in this world

dizzy, some people see the world like you, black & white with no gray areas. Some read in-between the lines instead of reading what is actually written
Your name calling does nothing to enhance your personality nor does it accomplish anything in trying to solve any problems.

I KNOW I am an intelligent, objective & fair person and refuse to make generalizations that have no facts to account for them.

That figures (in bold).

Thank you Tony, I wonder what they will call you now for saying that? Perhaps they will call you a pansy. If I were to use the exact same words as you used I would be told I am a man hater blah, blah, blah. Like thats gonna make me stick my head in the sand and close my eyes in denial because a bunch of losers dont see sexual abuse against children as a crime.

I wrote a blog about it this very issue and then it came to the forums. Strangely enough I got more support from the men than women both on the blogs and the forums. Now that says a lot in itself, but as I said on another thread, perhaps its only women in the US who dont see abuse against children as a serious enough problem to be outspoken.

Where I live the ladies in parliament are putting their foot down to be heard, big time. Crimes against women and children are taken more seriously now. Its evident US women are more suppressed than I realized. Its no wonder, they are too scared to voice their opinion against the men for fear of being called a man hater.

bullshit, have you ever heard of Maggie Thatcher?

Maggie Thatcher was prime minister, not president.

Hmmm... HAVE any women ever been elected president? I thought Golda Meir and Indira Gandhi, but both of them were prime ministers, too. From what I understand, people elect legislators from their districts, then the parties build coalitions and select one of their own as the executive.

Have any women ever been elected the leader of a country by national popular vote? Hmmmm...

president, prime minister... quite frankly I dont care for politics and titles mean even less to me especially if they cant do the job... or worse, wont do the job.

Maggie Thatcher was the leader of Britain and she turned a rotten economy round. To begin with she was hated for ridding the country of the fat cats but today Britain is better off for it. Judging by what the women are saying on these threads I doubt the US will ever have that privilege.

On the flip side, I can see a women leader in this country sooner than later, at least during my lifetime and we will be better off for it. We have strong feminine women in parliament here, I thank God for it.

skull in a bucket could be the eleventh victim

I got this from a previous post.

Fawcett Bess, 57, the owner of Bess Chicken and Pizza, across the street from the house, said that about two weeks ago, he found the man, Anthony Sowell, in the bushes alongside Mr. Sowell’s house naked and standing over a woman who was bloodied, beaten and also naked. Mr. Bess called 911, he said, and an ambulance soon took the woman away. But the police showed up two hours later and never interviewed him, he said.

Mr. Bess should have enough common sense to know the police had their hands tied because they would have most likely been accused of racial profiling if they had done more investigating. After all, it was his home.

Yep, fully agree. If the police had tried to investigate they would have also been called racists, or "stoopid" as our wonderful president would have put it.
