Posts: 7,907 Chancellor Merkel has a rather good reputation on this side of the pond. Lots of people followed her efforts as EU president, especially her support for efforts to combat global climate change.

I saw a little on C-Span and liked what I heard - mostly discussing how things had changed for the better in Germany as opposed to National Socialism, and how pleased and grateful she was for it. Nothing earth shattering there, but I'm going to look for a transcript and read it.
