Thanks Jankia.

Speaking of 9-11, does this phrase sound familiar? From the cockpit voice recordings during 9-11?

Soldiers reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" — an Arabic phrase for "God is great!" — before opening fire, said Lt. Gen. Robert Cone, the base commander. He said officials had not yet confirmed that Hasan made the comment.

Give me a break people.

He said officials had not yet confirmed that Hasan made the comment.

Cone also said:

‘It’s been a terrible tragedy. It’s stunning. We are absolutely devastated. The shooter was killed. He was a soldier. We since then have apprehended two additional soldiers who are suspects. There were eyewitness accounts that there may have been more than one shooter’.

...and has no one ever heard someone exclaim in horror, "Oh my God!"

Then I guess the soldiers who reported it and the base commander are liars.

By the way, who is the 'officials'?

Let's be candid.
Do you in your wildest dreams think the 'officials' want this out if they can stop it?

Think about it.

You have a field grade officer, who just gunned down over 40 American service members on American soil with a Muslim background.

It's time to take off the rose colored glasses and toss this political correctness to the curb.

All it's doing is filling body bags and making more victims.

And what if he had been Catholic?, or Methodist? or Jewish? Would we then be expected to classify all of these religions as "America haters"? Certain people are praying this nutjob was a Muslim so they will have another reason to hate. What difference does it make? So far, this doesn't appear to be a religion motivated event. He was born here. But, the fearmongers who make their living off of the fear of others will jump on this.

Let me get this right so I'm following your chain of thought.

This guy does'nt want to be deployed to an Arab nation because he may have to kill an Arab.

But he has no problem in shooting over 40 of his American comrades..

And people who question this mentality are 'haters'..

Is that about right?

And what if he had been Catholic?, or Methodist? or Jewish?

The last I heard, we are not at war with the Vatican.

But should the Vatican guard yell 'Hail Mary's' while gunning down U.S. Service members, I would feel the same.

The last I heard, we are not at war with the Vatican.

We are not at war with Mecca or Medina either.

One of three suspects is Muslim and Arab...perhaps...as he is in a coma and any others are now completely forgotten. I guess Allah must be on the side of the Arab Muslims, because look how lucky they all seem to be when they 'attack America'. Two planes take down three skyscrapers and this lucky guy takes out 13 and wounds 30 in 3 minutes with two handguns. Wonder if he was able to leap tall buildings in a single bound...

There are not three suspects, there is only one. The other two were cleared immediately after being taken into custody for questioning. Dont you watch the news?

Its called close quarters Lacy. This isnt like he is standing on a football field sighting victims through a scope, they are all right there bunched up. I wonder if you would have been able to survive.....big talker.

I think the above is more like incompetence and naive Americans think these people are going to be civilized and play by the rules.
Fatal mistake.

The truth is, there are no rules.
Time to wake up.

But that's just my opinion.

People need to understand that bullets can go through one person and into another. Bullets can also ricochet off of objects and hit people after being redirected.

His handgun was most likely a .45 or 9mm. They will hold 15 rounds in each clip (16 if you have one in the chamber. That equals a potential 32 shots without reloading.

It doesnt take a superman to do something like that. It takes an idiot.

in 3 minutes with two handguns.

Thats no big feat. I can empty a clip of 15 rounds in about 20 seconds.

Try another argument. It had already been reported more than one place that only one of the guns Maj. Hasan used was a semi-auto. Which means the other was probably a revolver.
The Associated Press, citing federal law enforcement sources, said the suspect used only one semi-automatic weapon in the attack.

The official millitary spokespeople are already trying to cover up some of the smell.
Officials are not ruling out the possibility that some of the casualties may have been victims of "friendly fire," shot by responding military officials.
Fort Hood Shooting

Edited to add: Bet they never revise downward the "official" numbers of how many people he is credited with shooting. Whatdya wanna bet? Just like they never officially revised all the list from which a third of the hijackers identified by 9/12/01 were still alive and walking around months after they supposedly were aboard a crashed plane.

Regardless of whether he shot them or they were killed by friendly fire, it doesnt change the fact that HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DEATHS!!! There would have been no friendly fire had this idiot not started shooting people.

One semi automatic or two, makes no difference. I can empty a 15 round clip in 20 seconds and reload another full clip in about 5 seconds. What are you searching for here?

Back to Lacy's asinine comments earlier.....how "lucky" are the suicide bombers who blow themselves up in crowded areas? They kill and wound hundreds. Wow, they are really lucky supermen, arent they? Dumbasses.

They're searching for the reason 300 combat-ready troops didn't rush this guy in such "close quarters" when God-alone knows how many could see the gun wasn't pointing in their direction at any given moment.

We're not talking about a bunch of high school students and children and soccer moms cowering under tables here. And unless you count a lot of friendly fire casualties, it is almost impossible for him not to have reloaded. Makes me wonder what they're teaching these guys before they send them someplace they're likely to be getting shot at. (By multiple shooters with fully automatic weapons with 30-round clips.)

Sounds like the lady cop was better trained than the room full of soldiers. Even if she had been unarmed, she would have been on him while wounded thus giving others a chance to back her up in getting the guy down. Sounds to me like whoever trained Kim Munley should be training the troops.

I'm not in charge.

But starting guard duty and issuing weapons on these bases would seem appropiate.
It's a freakin' military installation.

But then again, we're not talking about the Army I was in.

The cop that wounded the guy was 'outsourced'..

We had real Military Police as law enforcement.

This is a kindler, gentler Army.
This is the 'New Army'..

Prejudice and bigotry just make the problem worse.

Remember that the next time someone blows up an abortion clinic in the name of Christianity. I dont care who I offended with my statement. I said what I was thinking.

After 9/11 the excuse was that no one had anticipated planes flying into buildings (a blatant lie). I suppose we will be hearing now there is no way we could have anticipated one of our own turning on his comrades...of course, being an Arab Muslim he was not really ever one of us anyway... and then there was that DHS report that warned about the propensity for domestic terrorism from returning soldiers...and a hand grenade from Muslim American Army Sgt. Hasan Akbar that killed two and injured 14...

Nope! I am with NO. Something does not smell right. If I were Lt. Cone, I would be majorly irritated that I had not been given the approved script and a chance to study the lines before this went down. Also, let's recast this so that the shooter is not one of us. After all, we trained this guy and employed him for years. We were about to be relying on him in combat.

It was a 5.7mm handgun which I believe is capable of rapid fire and holds around 18 rounds.

Alas...if it only were that innocent ...
"Allah Akbar!" is NOT "Oh my God !" equivalent. It's more like " God is on my side! " and that's exactly what Muslim suicide terrorists/bombers are trained to shout the moment they are about to explode . I guess murdering innocent civilians is something even terrorrists need some self-encouragement to commit.

You will not hear that from me. I anticipate more. Not just military but civilians as well. We always hear of terror plots exposed. I am sure in the future, some Muslim terrorist plots will not be exposed in time. And that goes for other issues as well such as school shooting, race riots, Christians bombing abortion clinics bla, bla, bla.

Ann: When I heard his name, I was thinking somehow Islam will play a part in all this. Thats not politically correct of me either.

...In this case, you would be correct, in that "Islam" was the reason.

As a psychiatrist, Hasan, 39, had listened to soldiers' tales of horror. Now, the American-born Muslim was facing imminent deployment to Afghanistan. In recent days, Hasan had been saying goodbye to friends. He had given away many of his possessions, including copies of the Holy Quran.

At 2:37 a.m. Thursday and again around 5, Hasan called neighbor Willie Bell. Bell could normally hear Hasan's morning prayers through the thin apartment walls, but Hasan skipped the ritual Thursday.

Bell didn't pick up either time, but Hasan left a message.

"Nice knowing you, old friend," Hasan said. "I'm going to miss you."

About an hour later, surveillance cameras at a 7-Eleven across from the base captured images of a smiling Hasan, dressed in a long white garment and white kufi prayer cap, buying his usual breakfast — coffee and a hash brown.

At the processing center on the southern edge of the 100,000-acre base, soldiers returning from overseas mingled with colleagues filling out forms and undergoing medical tests in preparation for deployment.

Around 1:30 p.m., witnesses say a man later identified as Hasan jumped up on a desk and shouted the words "Allahu Akbar!" — Arabic for "God is great!" He was armed with two pistols, one a semiautomatic capable of firing up to 20 rounds without reloading.

Packed into cubicles with 5-foot-high dividers, the 300 unarmed soldiers were sitting ducks. Those who weren't hit by direct fire were struck by rounds ricocheting off the desks and tile floor.

When he decided that Hasan wasn't close to being out of ammo, Smith made a dash for the door. He'd made it outside when he heard cries from within.

"I don't want to die."

"This really hurts."

"Help me get out of here."

Smith rushed back inside and found two wounded. He grabbed them by their collars and dragged them outside.

His second time through the door, he ran into the shooter, whose back was to him. Smith turned and fled, bullets whizzing by his head and hitting the walls as he rushed outside.

Around this time, Fort Hood Police Sgt. Kimberly Munley got the call of "shots fired." The SRP isn't on Munley's beat; she was in the area because her vehicle was in the shop.

Munley, 34, was on the scene within three minutes.

Just over 5 feet tall, Munley is an advanced firearms instructor and civilian member of Fort Hood's special reaction team. She had trained on "active shooter" scenarios after the April 2007 mass shooting at Virginia Tech University. She didn't wait for backup.

As she approached the squat, rectangular building, a soldier emerged from a door with a gunman in pursuit. The officer fired, and the uniformed shooter wheeled and charged.

Munley was hit at least three times in the exchange — twice through the left leg and once in her right wrist. Hasan was hit four times.

From the first shots to the last, authorities say the whole incident lasted less than 10 minutes.

For more...

But for heroes, bloodbath could have been worse

...It is very common for civilians to be in a training position on bases, while it would appear that a five foot tall woman police officer was the hero of the day. While wounded three times herself, she managed to put four into Hasan.

Hasan, hooked up to a ventilator, was moved Friday to a military hospital in San Antonio. The woman who stopped him, Munley, awaited surgery Friday to remove the bullets from her leg. Her husband was flying in from Fort Bragg, N.C.

Her boss, Chuck Medley, was thankful. "If an officer had to be close by to respond," he said, "Kim Munley is someone we'd want to be there."

...Yes, without a doubt.
