Do you vote? if so in all elections federal state and local elections as well as ballet initiatives and school elections, and if not why not?

Federal, congressional and gubernatorial. I don't vote in town elections or school elections because really I could care less what goes on in my town, unless it's the building of *pukes* Main Street...and they voted on that before I could vote, anyway.

I vote in everything but school elections.
Personally I suspect that both major parties would prefer than none of us voted. That way their corporate sponsors and special interest groups could do the choosing for us. I don't intend to let them.

I try to get out and vote early - and often - in the national and state elections. Not so much in the local elections. If there's a ballot initiative that I feel fairly strongly about one way or another, I'll vote on that. If it's six of one or half dozen of the other, I can't see wasting the time to vote "I don't know"....and I usually have to write it in, anyway, which takes up more time and gets the guy standing in back of me patiently waiting his turn to vote a little upset.....

I'm a partisan politicians worst nightmare. I refuse to vote a straight party ticket and I have their office phone numbers on speed dial. If i vote against the winner I call their office and tell the poor sucker answering the phone that I didn't vote for this representative but I am a constiuent and that makes me the boss.

I vote... I try to find out in advance what referendums are on the ballot, so I know what to vote for, or against...
I figure if I don't vote, I have no reason to complain... and I like complaining...

I vote, it's my right and as I've said before, it allows me to be an equal opportunity bitch...er. I'm a libertarian, which pretty much removes any possibility of my voting a straight ticket...

Amen to that! Get out there and read about the candidates and don't let the sensationalized media pick out who you should or shouldn't vote for. Take time to find the facts.

I have voted in every election since I became a legal age to vote. I don't vote a straight ticket, never have, like to vote for the person not the party.

I always vote for the person, never the party.
Every opportunity I have, I take it. I care about local government just as national. We can't become particular when it comes to general issues- we'll vote on the most important one, and let the lesser go ignored. That's hypocritical. Only eating one piece of the pie, when the entire thing is so delicious and waiting to be devoured.
If anything local government is more important as national. Things in my town affect me more than the entire health care of the united states. If my town is buying new plow trucks, I want to vote on them, because my local taxes go up to help pay for the damn things.

For those of you who don't bother to vote in smaller, local elections, please remember this: the politicians you vote for in the major elections usually started out by winning and gaining name recognition in the smaller ones.
Teach 'em how to behave early on, I say.

Just a few days ago I told my township supervisor that I would continue to vote for him as long as he represents the constituents and ignores partisan pressure. As it is now, he's almost totally oposite of what his party is on a statewide and national level.

Yes, I always vote.
After the last 2 elections though, I wonder why I even bother anymore.
I am very disheartened with what has happened to the election process. I think there is so much corruption, it would be almost impossible to have anything close to an honest election........
I wonder how bad it will have to get, before Americans finally wake up and start demanding change.
Even though I doubt my vote will be counted, I am sure I will will be standing in line, as usual come election time. It is hard to give up........

I vote in all elections. And if you don't think it is important to vote in local elections or those for school board, remember this...these are the same people who in Dover, Pennsylvania and in Kansas removed evolution from the school curriculum and replaced it with creationism, also known as intelligent design.
