Thirty Six Dee
31 August 2005
She said they
were Thirty Six Dee
And she was Five Foot Nine
to be really sexy
This woman of stature
with a smile upon her face
A tomboy at heart
yet full of all grace
Wonderful in soul and spirit
beautiful in words to the page
Where in her - happiness
was all of rising to a stage
From Ohio to the
land of "gid’day"
Which in New Zealand is
"hello" in another way to say
Gid’day (or pronounced "Geed Ah"
the word is a greeting of Hello or Hi
more common in Australia and New Zealand
being a variant on the words "good day" to you

Daddy’s Little Angel
27 September 2005
She was Daddy’s little angel
until the day she developed and grew up
Then she was all the boys favourite
with her body and noticeable dee cup
This woman of wonder
who acts like being one of the boys
Then some will think she was
more fun in viewing her bouncing toys
Daddy’s little angel a few years old
Daddy’s child more a mother
to her daughter when all now told
She was Daddy’s little angel
even to the day she grew up
Daddy’s little angel
full in fun of her dee cup

When Stars do Shine
01 October 2005
When stars do shine
and the world goes round
In cosmic synchronicity
she was found
Her beauty
her sunshine
Her love and desire
of an outlook summery and fine
When night was day
and the moon replaced the sun
This was to show in this world
each day was another to come
Her love
her understanding
Her happiness
next to a man
in shoulder height standing

Road to a Smile
14 November 2005
On a road to a smile
in San Bernardino
With beauty in a spirit
built upon in foundation to grow
Where a crow flies from Los Angeles
toward distance Pacific in ocean to treat
All in adding up to ten in thousand to count
in the eye of the ‘Two One Five’ to greet
Within vision of spectacle to sample
high upon mountains sheltering the desert sun
Nestled in forested backing to nurture
almost as if land and multitude were one
California this Golden State
from Mexico to Oregon
with Nevada and Arizona on the side
Sea and Ocean being terms of speech
where the ‘eye’ fifteen heads to Utah
and Canada overhead in being to glide
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken
US poet (1874 - 1963)

Continuation of Two
14 November 2005
Wonder was a woman
wonder was in the name of you
Where beauty was a heartbeat
and the sun was a world away in half
Your affection to that of summer
even with winter on your doorstep to stand
How time can heal - yet also divide
those in relationship of kin
For this was a year - a period to adjust
your presence more than a number to count
With another curve to that of corner
across a river to the Pacific bridge
Wonder was a woman
wonder was all of you
To say again what could
place such presence toward
the continuation of two
“for Lori”

Holden to the US of A
15 June 2003
Holden to the United States of America
in four states of an account
To be holden to all
four states in amount
Whether in Massachusetts
or West Virginia on the way
Onward to Missouri
and Utah in a day
Left and right
from east to west
Holden to the
logistics of the test
In close proximity to
interstate highway seven oh
All primed to travel in a
Two Thousand and Four
model Pontiac GTO
Just another Holden
under the skin
Where in Australia
they were known
to race and win
Released by General Motors in the United States of America in 2004, the Pontiac GTO was actually an Americanised version of the Australian manufactured Holden Monaro model. In its GTO form exported from Australia to the USA. Like the Monaro being a revived Australian icon of an era originating in the late 1960’s. The Pontiac GTO was a name of similar icon status in the USA.
With the Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO Coupe using the Chevrolet 5.7 Gen III V8 engine also utilized in the Australian Holden Commodore and the Chevrolet Corvette in the USA. "Holden" being a GM marque manufactured in Australia. (and part of the reason I am poet to the cars although I reign from New Zealand)

Heaven to Endure
15 November 2005
Her eyes were blue
her heart was encased
When there was shelter
hidden behind her face
The beauty of her smile
such essence from within
She was all in happening
from this in enlightenment to begin
Summer delight - spring to rejoice
Season by season - her being
was in presence to rejoice
Debonair and everything of grace
she represented a world of challenge to endeavour
From that first day - her word was read
to this time of fortune - rich in a friendship
When knowing her was pure heaven to endure

Another Lori Psalm
20 September 2005
Gee - I love you
I don’t know why
All I know is
tears in my eyes
want to cry
I love you
because love is love
I love you - because
I love no one else
Could it be
Christ I love
Or you from the
center of my heart
Since only in
a central place
Can thoughts of you
never depart
Pueda Manana Abrazamos Sinceramente
Love
One element about love and the word love is that it has many meanings. But do we have the right to thrust our feelings upon others, in referring to this as love. Unfortunately when love involves two parties, in preference a man and woman, there are two hearts and two minds. Even if the individual decision or interpretation of feeling of love or being in love are truly more one sided. So no matter how we may believe, or trick ourselves to love another - if this is not a mutual association can it be considered to be love - given there are other words in the dictionary of English language to describe such feelings.
May Tomorrow We Truly Embrace

A Psalm for Kim
30 January 1996
She came to me to say, "hi"
so this was Kim
yet I made her cry
tears streaming from her eyes
This was about faith
not my faith
but her faith
faith in what I'd said
I'd given a prayer
with my soul to bear
those naked words
I did not hear
Moments before I left the planet
my words I believe just standard
upon my return
my peace was said
"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire,
when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have
them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought
against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may
forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither
will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."

Milk of Tranquility
02 July 2005
As if seeking out buttercups
among the roses of a lighted day
Where was this to ponder in lamp
to those arrows of target on aim
This yesteryear of scripture
over why there should be lesson
Given faith - hope - charity
and all three void of open shame
To perhaps not know why
but never understand
Because acceptance was more
that in mellow to never fear
A yellow flower
that not of a Texas rose
This milk of tranquility
this was how I got to be here
In Texas, USA, history the legend and lore of the "Yellow Rose of Texas" - commemorated in song. Conceived originally as a folksong in early Colonial Texas history, the first recorded copy of the "Yellow Rose of Texas" was handwritten on a piece of plain paper circa 1836.
The folk song's lyrics tell of a black American [thought to be a soldier] who left his sweetheart [a "yellow rose"] and longs to return to her side. Since at the time, "Yellow" was a term given to Americans of mixed race. And "Rose" was a popular feminine nineteenth century name; frequently used in songs and poems as a symbolic glorification of young womanhood. [Turner, Martha Anne. Yellow Rose of Texas: Her Saga and Her Song.] Where changes to the lyrics have been made from the original. Historical records show the song's original title was "Emily, the Maid of Morgan's Point." [Turner]
While the facts relating to there being a yellow rose in botanical form has opened a wave of naturalized stands of the hybrid rose, Harison's Yellow , that can be found as far west in the USA as New Mexico and California. But it is seldom seen naturalized in Texas.

A Kiwi ‘Haere mai’*(Welcome)
04 July 2005
Buttercups don’t grow in Hawaii
yellow roses do not grow in Texas
Or was it that being a male
was like posting in kind to sexist
This majesty of kingdom
princess to that of food
To know of her—in search
and run in waves to include
Shipping in computation - weeks away
in hope return - For his happening of her
towards those future - moments teacher learn
Surfing and climbing
seeing snow and water to day
More over to simply taken - in step
to forward a "kiwi gid’day"
In the Maori Language, ethnic to New Zealand in origin, there are similarities to other Polynesian languages of the South Pacific region in words expressed— while being unique to the land of New Zealand, Aotearoa [Land of the Long White Cloud]. Where in Hawaiian the word "Aloha" means ‘Hi’ or ‘Hello’ and in Maori the equivalent greeting is ‘kia ora’ - and the Maori word *‘Haere mai’ [welcome] was also used by way of greeting another, or a group. While in commonality of New Zealand/Australia sayings—a greeting was conducted through using the word— Gid’day [good day—or more commonly accepted to replace the words ‘hello’ or ‘hi’ - as a formal greeting].
The word ‘kiwi’ was also as much New Zealand—The Kiwi (Apteryx australis), a flightless bird unique to New Zealand. Said to have lived there for over 70 million years, a major national symbol of the country. New Zealand people being often referred to as "Kiwis" in response to this national pride [and in addition the name related to the kiwifruit - an egg shaped fruit with a hairy outer skin and green centre of fruity flesh - formally known as a Chinese Gooseberry. The kiwi birds are around 31 cm [12 inches] long, and have a sensitive beak [ a unique feature being the nostrils towards the end of the bill ]. They nest in holes in dense vegetation and hunt for grubs at night.

She beith a vision of dreams
a bewonderment of his queen
Such beauty beyond that
of any other doormat
For she deserves the best
and a love beyond that of rest
As eyes feast upon her soul
his love in her beith whole
A beauty beyond stars in heaven
a beauty settled in eleven
One hour before midnight
her wonderment so right
Doth it has a warmth like
and the depth of a lamp strike
A light of brightness beyond desire
for this love be not that of a liar
“Where there is no vision, the people perish:
but he that keepth the law happy is he”

God Created Ford
15 November 2001
One could wonder
what this is all about
As each line is consumed
in a rhythmic rout
Why do people compose these
things for others to investigate
The desire of expression on
board the entity of pure fate
Since each verse comes with little
planning and the outcome is unknown
All that really is understood is that
fraction by faction this has grown
A message may come forth
at this point to strike a cord
But the reality is it might be
just that God created Ford
“He was in the world, and the world was made by
him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his
own, and his own received him not. But as many as
received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believed on his name:”

Determining Another Step
04 February 2005
If fate has a way of happening
then I am known to walk many miles in a day
Like it was only yesterday I covered a distance
on account - step by step into another path
Even if at times my door
is left without a knock
The desire remains of
a hope captured in heart
Tomorrow - oh tomorrow
lost away from yesterdays dreams
Yet fresh from dew covered
pastures at dawn
Such a mixture of attitude
listening to an intermit pull
Determined to take another step
in enhancing a happening of God’s will
“And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.”
Matt. 5: 41 KJV
“BOAST not thyself of to morrow;
for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Proverbs. 27: 1 KJV
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
James 4: 14 KJV

Movie Star Heaven
16 November 2005
When life was a dream
would you wake up
to know she had been
This woman of attraction
her auburn hair and beautiful eyes
With a smile that came
in wonder of prize
Her eyes of color
green to hazel in view
She was an angel
who from each kiss was new
All in a beauty of
wonder to such sight
Her heart to warmth adore
over what I saw last night

Michelle
18 March 2000
Michelle is her name
given by birth claim
Sure she does exist
written in songs that twist
Young, old and a mother
wife, sister with a brother
This woman of vision
caught up in lifes collision
Angel of the soul
filling her feminine role
with qualities of purpose
bound to surface
She therefore is a symbol
of the ideal rule
Her home may not be here
but she is everywhere
“FOR the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the
very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which
they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto
perfect. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again
made of sins every year. Wherefore when he cometh into the
world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a
body hast thou prepared me: By the which will we are sanctified
through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

Art for Heart Sake
16 November 2005
There once was a girl
from New Jersey, [USA]
who did shine
Then she met a guy
from New Zealand
and together numbers did climb
Across a globe stretched
to places never seen before
Both in a happiness
with kinship to explore
One day to the next
Every where another
connection of volume in text
This day she and he did touch
while distance meant hands were soft
so as not to truly feel in anything but heart
Needless to consider how each line
of poetry - was rhythm to ponder over in art
“for Lori”
“. . . when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains,
however improbable, must be the truth.”

British mystery author and physician (1859 - 1930)

Whispers in Her Dreams
17 November 2005
What was love
but a quest in task
Where beauty was a smile
in a whisper to ask
Her eyes hazel to the sun
closed tight in her sleep
A face full of smile
while winter upon
her doorstep does peak
This warmth wrapped up inside
her heart gentle as to that of rest
Each day another to approach
within a contour to express
For she was love and that was true
She was everything of being heavenly
And by that this poet from a place of dreams
does send forth such thoughts of prosperity too

Destination Forsaken
19 November 2005
Where was pain
where was sorrow
Of this life to live or die
sometime between
here and tomorrow
Those nights safe and snug
wrapped up in warm linen
To know another day would come
as if each was another to begin
For who cares about the poet
unless death brings them fame
Much as to the artist and brushes to paint
signed upon the blood of their name
Friendships will live and prosper
marriages will last or die in love taken
These mysteries of life - with memories deleted
and open hearts - ripped - torn - nurtured some
by this heaven and earth in destination forsaken
“And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying,
Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted,
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
Mark 15: 34 KJV
“Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;”
2 Corinthians 4: 9 KJV

South Carolina Thirst
19 November 2005
On the road from Charlotte and beyond
Over the state line from North to South
in status of Carolina in her beauty so fond
From the ‘Eight Five’ and adding a Three
on a path through to Georgia
via Greenville on the way
A place of county in same name
and a few words in pause to say
Under a rainbow
in colors of choice
Red—white and blue
in a season to rejoice
The Palmetto State
and Columbia in between
Each night a road to heaven
with the Atlantic Ocean
one contrast to Pacific birth
So much to taste in a sample
of South Carolina thirst

Christopher,
That was very sweet of you to have me in mind for this SC poem. Just in time, for tomorrow is my birthday. :)
So, have you visited my fair state before? I live right at the foothills and can see the mountains' horizons just over the hill here. And just 3 little hrs to the coast...yes, I feel I have best of both worlds here between the mountains and the ocean.
Have a Blessing of a day!

I live on the coast - west coast of the North Island of New Zealand - and within a few hundred yards of the sea - I can hear the waves crashing on the beach - some nights when I am in bed
Also I can see a 8260 feet stand alone mountain from my window - where I sit using my computer - the mountain would be somewhere around 20 miles from me in a straight line
there are roads that goes up this mountain to the 3000 ft above sea level - I also climbed right to the top of the summit at one time of my life - but there will be many who have stood on the peak more than once in their lives - I just never got a second chance to do this
In my region the climate is such that a person could go surfing in the sea and ski on the mountain on the same day - but I do neither
As for the poem I wrote - I call those my virtual road trip poems that I specialize in composing - and I have never as yet been outside of New Zealand to travel but in my mind - when you will discover from my poems - I write about many places - and and starting to build up a collection in relation to several states of the USA - maybe one day I will have a book with a poem in it about every state

Scarlet’s Letter
19 November 2005
She said - He wrote beautiful poetry
and from his heart her words did stir
While she wondered about his heart
and he just thought more about her
Her imagination captured
in a visa of paint
Upon a canvas where
his hearts desire was faint
Each beat - every minute of being not sure
the lonely poet - captured and forsaken
While words came from a mind
full of compassion - having not
by this stage of life truly been taken
To think of her with a kind heart
and know she was of beauty herself
Where words were only words
to the poet to express
In looking for love
seeking out hopes destination
But withheld from the sender
or having gone to the wrong address
