Seems like a dozen lifetimes since I wrote this, but I look at the date again, and realize how little time has truly passed. Time really flies when you're having fun!

A tender word, a drop of comfort
in a sea of pain. Such was her gift.
The words pursued, a tender gentle heart
revealed herself to the lonely wandering soul.
Growing close as friends, then closer still,
flirts, winks and nods invited more.
Deeper and stronger, closer they grew,
a dance across the leagues weaving the two.
A passion flared and swiftly died
the bonds they'd forged were sorely tried.
Yet still the gentle heart remained
so constant, tender, easing pain.
Until the opportunity renewed
once more to flirt, to dance, to laugh
to let the past drift off as chaff;
a mating dance out on display for two.
The risky moment came at length
at last to meet, to know --
would love now kindled, hold and flare
or coldly die within the snows.
Go boldly then, don't count the cost--
let your eyes, your hands,
your lips, now meet.
What's not risked is wholly lost.
And now they wait, the hours pass
too slowly and delays amass.
If disappointment and hurt await
they'll bear it, if it is their fate.
Love's golden crown is worth the price
thought its road is barred by fire and ice.
Woman, queen of all his empty nights,
he struggles toward you with all his might!

You and Katt,,,,ok I'm suddenly speechless,,,all the mushy stuff I was going to say just doesn't seem 'good' enuf
