Posts: 652 Written when I was having an affair with someone I couldn't have because he was already attached.

Remember when I flew so free?
"Here's the world, and then there's me"
Infatuation ruled the world
I found love in every spoken word
I dared to fly higher than the birds
The thought of him made my toes curl
It felt so very good to see
The whole persona that was me

I do believe a single smile
Just brushed the air in every aisle
The smell of sweet perfume abound
'Twas love of body, mind, and soul
That nourished me in times of old
It kept me happy all around
Naysayers say it passed the while
I say nay, time froze to smile

Now, here we are again, my friends
I really thought the lust would end
If only I'd have stopped it short
Before the warm air seeped under
The door where he did plunder
The secrets of this body's heart
Still touched by the natural blend
Of two hungry bodies' pleasure's end

I miss the touch of perfect pain
I miss the sound of falling rain
Yet, the absence of constant rejection
Is comforting in its own right
It helps me sleep through the night
And though this existence lacks perfection
"Nothing" leaves not much to wane
Where "Not Enough" gives only pain
