The Snake

Nestled snug beneath his blanket, he sees
A silver snake slithering slowly towards the street
Sounding like the rustle of autumn leaves
Beneath his feet.

In the woods, on this crisp fall morning
It shimmers, glistens as it moves
Upon its back, the sun brightly shining
A sparkle of light amidst the grass.

Without a sound, without a motion
He sits still to see, quite enthralled
This awesome picture being painted
By the most famous painter of all.

A work of art, a sight to see
A silver snake slithering steadily.
