Posts: 54 I wrote this to my oldest daughter after she told me that she was pregnant.

Your Child

You were my first born when I was still just a boy
I never knew a child could bring my life such joy

Your soft tender skin,blues eyes and black hair
Made me forget about my troubles,I hadn't a care

Your mere existence helped turn this boy into a man
I solemly vowed to provide you the best life I can

I watched you grow from a baby to a little girl
You beautiful smile and kind heart was like no other in the world

I wish I could I could have been in your life so much more
Some weekends and holidays are what I waited for

Taking you to the beach and swimming was so much fun
You grabing my neck tightly when the big waves would come

As you grew older the closer we became
You always told me everything and I told you the same

I am not perfect unlike my vision of you
The most beautiful daughter,if you only knew

You have become a lovely young woman now with beauty unmatched
With your unborn baby inside you to which you will become attached

When you bring this life into your world your life will certainly change
All your priorities and what's important will all be rearranged

You life will change for the best and this you will see
I just hope this child brings you all the joy that you brought me

Sometimes raising a baby these days can be very chaotic and wild
But there is no greater love in this world than the love for your child.
