a child's laugh
of pure and innocent joy
high pitched and still one
of just a very young boy
a quick mind and happy
with a lust for life
wide-eyed and open
to all of life's welcome
that he embraced
with an excited smile
and a brain that raced
taking life in
sharing his thoughts
with mama and papa
at the end of the days
we all spent together
and it was beautiful
to all be together
and when brothers came
he loved them the same
and no jealousy hindered
his soft and kind little heart
his world was happiness
and full of wonder
and he yammered and yammered
and jabbered and jabbered
a little explosion of innocent energy
that always did good
and was honest, kind, caring
but his company was breif
as all chillens grow up too fast
and some grow more
and they go on to more
more further than you'd care to know
and some will leave
leave you wish was a word that worked
for you wish for your little walkie-talkie
that was happy to be with you and me
describing the world again
thru his astonished eyes
that helped made a hard day
worth its while to have survived
to see his smile
at the days very end
even when they end forever.
