I used to lift alot of weights, but not so much anymore.
One day I was working out, and it just hit me......mid stride........
Why do I want to lift that? Its heavy.

Because it's man law , anyways it's fun to lift. I haven't been to the gym in forever my job gives enough of a work. Unloading about 70,000 lbs a week is good enough for me.

That's hysterical the way you put that lj.....to a certain degree I understand the you're talking about
But, I just love lifting. I take things in stride, and never try to lift more than I am capable of. I usually build up to a certain weight and than sustain at that weight because if I were to increase the weight I could injure myself.
Weight training for me is a form of meditation, for my mind and body. Love it.
It's a way for me to practice mindfulness, and in the mean time I keep in shape

I love women who lift weights. I hear too many guys and women say its unnattractive or uncool for women to lift weights, but myself I have always liked women who cared enough, had the ambition and determination to stay in shape, improve their health and stay healthy and are not afraid to be strong and are not intimidated by guys or other women who tell them they should stop.

It's good for you. It stenghthens bones too. As you get older you will lose muscle mass and bone, but lifting helps you keep them. I lift and I will try to keep doing it.

If I don't get to work out....I become achy. Lifting is definitely good for ya and it is a form of meditation for me also. I concentrate on my abdominal muscles with most exercises and my breathing. If I've had a rough day....I usually picture someones head in the spot where the weights come together!

Pumping iron has been the best thing that ever happened to me. Started at 14 when I saw Hercules (Steve Reeves). Lifted all through high school and competed for the first time at 17 when I was home on leave from boot camp, Air Force I took 2nd place as a weight lifter, had dreams of maybe making it into the Pan Am games but I was young and my interests changed and switched to bodybuilding. Now I'm 61 and still workout 5 to 6 days a week. Pumping iron has saved my life I was diagnosed with throat cancer at 50 I smoked until 5 months ago. Decided to quit cause I was retiring and wanted to stay around for a while longer. I've also had both my knees replaced the last one 6 months ago. Exercising of any kind is definitely the fountain of youth. And it's never to late to start.
