You know he ended up commiting suicide so I would be careful in following any of his advice.

Posts: 4,304 He and his buds were sitting around looking for a way to get drunk faster. It involves swishing about a tablespoon of rum around in your mouth for about 20 seconds to increase the vaporized alcohol. then you swallow and inhale deeply through your mouth so that the alcohol vapor goes into your lungs where it can quickly get into your blood stream.

If you get good at doing it, then you swallow only half the rum and inhale over the remaining alcohol held in the front of your mouth. The procedure gives you a very fast buzz.

Someone has suggested this as a treatment for lung infections -- the alcohol being a disinfectant to the nasties in the lungs. I was wondering if anyone had tried it. I still have not tried it.

Posts: 1,122 I don't know about that.... he may have just made that up for an excuse to drink as he really was a very odd man.

I will tell you that I have gargled with whiskey or tequila when I had a sore throat. I dont know if it worked but my rationale was that if I sipped it and swallowed a little at a time the alcohol would kill all the germs on the lining if my throat instantly.
I dont know if it works but the alcohol puts my head in a more relaxed mood.

Canadian mist ( is that burbon or whiskey??? ) is what I prefer.... very smooth.

About hemingway and vapors..... all I can say is hmmm. I am sure alcohol can be sublingually taken but ?
I dont know if it would work faster than just drinking it.
