Question About My Sister's Weight |

Recently my mother, my sister, and I started seeing the nutritionist. I'm sticking to my diet and exercising regularly, and my mother is trying, but she's not exercising at all.
My sister isn't taking it seriously at all because she doesn't feel like she's overweight.
She's four foot nine, twelve years old, and weighs 105 pounds. That sounds pretty overweight to me, but I could be wrong. I told her I thought maybe she was a bit overweight and she said "I SHOULD WEIGH ABOUT 120 POUNDS!!! I AM NOT OVERWEIGHT AT ALL", when the thing is that someone my age and my height and my build should weigh 120 pounds....not a little twelve year old.

Hey lass,
Here's a BMI calculator
Mine's currently 31.3. I'm chunky.
I hope this helps.

The BMI is a rough indicator, at best. Athletes will almost always be off the scale. When I was in highschool and playing baseball still, running 5 miles every day and lifting weights 4 times per week, my BMI was in the "overweight" range. The best thing to do is to call her pediatrician and ask what most 12 year old girls weigh at her height. That will give you the very best guess for what she should be.

I don't trust the BMI indicator either because I think your build and bone structure should also factor into what your optimum weight should be. Although I'm short, I have a large frame, and I should NOT weigh 100 pounds, as the BMI indicator says that is a healthy weight for me.
