This is strange because I'm ok on planes, although I have to sit in a aisle seat but let there be something on TV showing a huge drop off, bridge or a shot from the 50th floor of a building window looking down and this fear over takes me. Just talking about it makes me feel uneasy.

I am fine on aeroplanes too I was even ok in a small aircraft for most of the time
But as you say scorpio.....even scenes on the TV affect me
I am starting to feel uneasy, not about talking, the thoughts that go with it.

I'm the same way. I'm terrified of heights.
And I know about those thoughts too...it's like you want to jump off.

I just stay away from heights!
Actually I think there is counceling for this, but as it is not disabling to me, I just live with it.
I'm the same way about overpasses on highway...I'm afraid my car will just drive off.
I can make myself get on a ladder if I have to, but try not to.

I am exactly the same in a car
I was on holiday once in Tenerife and the marina had a shortcut of an open stairway.
I had to walk around every time. Took me about 3/4hr instead of 5mins.
I was asked to get something in work last week and I couldn't do the open stairway.

When I lived in Vegas, they installed escalators to a walk way over the Strip. I went up OK, but there was no way I was going down on that thing.

I froze on the edge of a grass cliff face once too. I was ok walking down but climbing up I got stuck and just froze clinging to the grass.
It's ok, I'm not still there

I'm 5'9"
Good thing I'm not taller or I would be afraid to stand up!
I do wish I knew how we could get over this. I'm afraid of carnival rides for the same reason.

You think little people aim for tall friends
I reckon it's the tall people that aim for the little friends

I don't know that there is much anyone can do to "conquer" this fear. I have it also. Shoot, sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon, I thought I would fall in from dizziness! Even worse-now they have that new walkway over the Canyon. I would probably pass out!
