1) "Whatsoever your hand finds to do, do (it) with your might;" ecc.9:10 2) "He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster." prov.18:9
#1 is about metabolism and exercise and #2 is about that and among other things manipulating hunger by adjusting your portion sizes so as to manipulate hunger before your next meal which is to avoid waste and this diet works and the others i tried when i thought i had a hernia and couldn't adress my need to loose my belly (that i got from 10 years of pastry chefing) through metabolism didn't.

Its best to have a healthy body and not worry about the supermodel body......
The key is what goes in the mouth, stays unless you move around to burn it.

I just talked to my doctor last week about my body and size. I told him for the last month I've been going to the gym for 30-45 min. 4 times a week, eating more fruit and vegs, and drinking more water. I've only lost a few pounds. But he said it doesn't matter if I've lost weight as long as I feel good about what I'm doing. And I do. For the past 7 1/2 years I've been exercising regularly and have rarely lost wieght. But I do feel good about myself. Yes I'm fat and fluffy but I'm also healthy.

I'm not thinking of, say, twiggy, when i say supermodel. The scripture admits to degrees of outward beauty and to some extent it's possible to influence this. Much is being said these days about an epidemic of obeisity that is causing a great deal of emotional and physical sickness and suffering and reduced life spans. The prophets cry against gluttony. I have thought that this prophetic word, quoted above against waste could carry with it a natural punishment called "looking funny" to help enforce it. It's hard to watch loved ones have poor quality lifestyles because their hearts are unhealthy. I think it's a mistake to embrace the attitude, "ignore the problem and it will go away" or "let's pretend there's no problem here". As for the question "How fat is fat?" i have no answer for that one.

Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their mysery no more. Proverbs 31: 6/7

I feel persuaded that this context is properly: 4 (It is) not for kings, O Lemuel, (it is) not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: 5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. 6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. 7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
Strong drink, here, is , in my opinion, when the pain of what you are going through is compomising your chances of surviving it and the heavy hearts, here, is , in my opinion, something like being overcome with disabling grief such as when informed of your family having perished or something. The apostle assures us that no drunkard shall be in the kingdom of heaven. We are called priests and kings in this age, you know.

I haven't noticed too many supermodel-like chicks (and dudes) hanging around the churches lately, have you? I guess they've missed hearing the Word. (My local funeral director said she's had to add "super-sized" coffins to her inventory. Gives new meaning to "dead weight".)
...of course interpretation depends on which version of the Bible one is using:
Proverbs 31:6-7 (Contemporary English Version) Contemporary English Version (CEV) Copyright © 1995 by American Bible Society
6Beer and wine are only
for the dying
or for those
who have lost all hope.
7Let them drink
and forget
how poor and miserable
they feel. We're all dying every day that we live.
We are called priests and kings in this age, you know. Rather arrogant, don'tcha think? In that case, I'm going to usurp the title "Goddess"...and continue enjoying my MotherNature-given lazy, slothful, often gluttonous FLAT BELLIED bod...with Unholy Spirits (Demon Rum ) or a wickedly rich Cabernet Sauvignon. Salud.

If you think that one was arrogant, check these out.
Note that this unfortunate -or forget that - this assinine translation of the word elohim into G-o-d (which was exactly the pronunciation of the name of the great abomination of the germanic tribes) isn't retained below but "potentates" (the most accurate in my opinion) is used.
"33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone you not; but for blasphemy; and because that you, being a man, make yourself potentates. 34 Iaushua answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are potentates? 35 If he called them potentates, unto whom the word of potentates came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say you of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, You blaspheme; because I said, I am the Son of potentates?"Ion 10:33-36
" 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of potentates: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of potentates, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abides in him doesn't sin: whosoever sins has not seen him, neither known him."1st Ion 3
"5 Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Iaushua Messiah is in you, except you be reprobates?"2nd Cor.13
It is written in paul's letters, "23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your often infirmities." 1st Tim. I've noticed that when i'm unable to afford the dry burgundy that i use at the table and drink that old sugary pop that i tend to gain weight, and this may be some of what he was thinking when he told timothy that.

Exercise is equally important as nutrition. So both needs to be managed carefully.

I accidently found this and couldn't resist:
A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. [Ecclesiastes 10:19]
(It's on topic because money can hire that personal trainer. )

sunbabe, This verse was delivered to a people who were not yet being referred to, one and all, as priests and kings. They also hadn't had the admonition "gird up the loins of your mind" delivered to them (a picture, incidentally, of a weight lifter going for a record lift comes to mind on that one) because they hadn't had as much expected of them because they hadn't received the "power from on high" that they received at ierusalem which made them able to fulfill the commandment, "You be perfect even as your father in heaven is perfect" (This last verse being the only one that may possibly be off point but "a law which neither we nor our fathers could keep" may make it quite pertinent to this topic - happy to discuss). sexyeyes, This verse in timothy has been translated "For bodily exercise profits a little but potentatliness is profitable unto all things..." (and the kjv interpreters in their own words, in their intro, make it quite mockable, this idea of an inspired interpretation) and their translation causes it to contradict several verses, in my opinion, but to humor them somewhat, if they are right, (> and it says "profits little" instead) that doesn't quit someone of their obligations to obey the rest of the scriptures and this context objection of yours is impertinent to the text of ecclesiastes or proverbs either one because in both the author is delivering proverbs that aren't a part of a line of contextual logic but are independent of the statements that surround them, that being particularly true of proverbs but also, in this portion of ecclesiastes also, in my opinion. Notice also that our bodies are called the "temples" of the spirit of the father and then go read chapter after chapter in the law regarding all the fuss that our maker directed the builders of the tabernacle and the temple to take, as evidence that even if it profits little, that doesn't give permission for it to be entirely neglected (any more that the fact that our redeemers comments that it's not good to marry if he is given that ability, makes it wrong to marry > and i can involve in difficulty nicely, those who say he never taught that, by the way).

not familiar with janice. I think it's less likely for women to have a chance at that in, say, their 50's but even for them i think it might be possible - don't do tv or movies so can't really name anybody.

Maybe not a "super model", but even some 60 year olds who live on an all-carb/all-colesterol diet and never exercise can model clothes.
