Ok, so I saw a tid bit on recycling and how certain numbers in the triangle on the bottom of recycled plastic is actually harmful for you!! I was wondering if anyone had any idea what that number is that we need to steer clear of. I have searched briefly but no results for what I am looking for. Answers much appreciated as we are big recyclers in our house and just recently changed from several cases of bottled water a week to Britta pitchers and filters on everything. lol

I have limited knowledge on this, but from what I understand, there are 3 numbers on the bottom of plastic that shows] not sure what the numbers are] that a component is in it, that leaches in to food or drink stored in it, and of course we absorb it into our bodies when we drink or eat from it.
I think it has to do with the grade of plastic, some plastic leaches more than others, although you should never heat any food or drink in any plastic even if it says microwavable.
Take it out and set it in a dish then microwave.
