My father and I are thinking of trying colon cleansing pills.
Has anyone tried these? What have your results been? If not, what have you heard? I'm trying to do as much research as possible. I've heard a lot of good things but some firsthand experience would be nice.

Lip, just my opinion, but unless you're having problems down below, I think God designed our colons to cleanse themselves.

Maybe try activia yogurt...eliminate gluten products and dairy? Not sure...but I'd ask a dr. before doing a cleansing regiment. JMO

Yeah I'm definitely going to ask my doctor about it. I was just wondering if anyone here had had any experience with it, because I can't really find anything relevant on the web. Most of what I'm finding is advertisements, and that definitely won' do me any good -_-;

Pam
Also try a good liver tonic. Get it from any health food store.
Hook into the peppermint. Natural IBS treatments will do it.
Try that and it WILL make a difference.

Black licorice. Senna tea. Extra fiber, from a non wheat source. Just suggestions.

LGQ I tried one's that come in a kit a couple of times. I cannot recall the name, but I bought it at the health food store and it came with a cd, pills, a cleaning fiber drink and vitamins and was a bit costly It required no eating for 3-5 days and just taking the pills along with the fiber drink. (the drink was disgusting and made me gag) The first time I did it I was really sick with some kind of virus so it was easy to just lie in bed and not eat and take the pills. I felt horrible, couldn't sleep either. Anyway, I felt extremely weak and after about 3 days I think I lost 10 pounds of bloat...the very second I went back to work and ate a meal it came right back. Second time I tried to do it I tried on a weekend and I went only one day without eating and that was IT... I couldn't function. If you need any sort of energy to go to work or go out it's extremely difficult. I've read a lot about them as well and I had still been looking for one that actually works the way I want it to. The claims they make will have you believing that they are the greatest product. I suppose you just have to try some different brands and see what works for you.

Probably the best thing if you are interested in a real colonic cleansing is to find a trustworthy practitioner and have a colonic irrigation...more costly but more effective...some people have it done yearly....you can waste a lot of money, time and feeling well by trying over the counter treatments..

LGQ.......I also have tried it.... .......you need to check with your dr first.....it is not good for your body.........you can lose alot of electrolytes....which is very very dangerous...... ..as well as....alot of other valuable nutrients.........it is hard on your system.......it is not a way to go........drink lots of water 8 to 12 glasses a day, cut down on salty foods look at the sodium intake on what you maybe eating, fruits of course cause you to bloat.........water with lemon will flush that out and you won't be bloated.......eating watermelon in another great thing ......it is a natural diuretic.......to flush you out to get rid of that bloat feeling ........and eating bananas are very good ...........get your email

If you are feeling bloated, read the ingredients on what you are eating, check your blood type and make sure what you eat is actually good for your blood type. Water definitely. Most of those colon cleanses can be bad for you. If is has licorice, and you have high blood pressure, it can make it worse. (I prefer the colonic myself, Katie.) If you get a colonic, make sure it is someone that has the get into the machine type, instead of on a table.

Question? What is difference between a colonic and a enema?. I'm thinking a colonic is a deeper cleanse? So when they run water through you in a colonic does it make you want to poop like enema?
Ive heard people say they have had a colonic but it is a bit of a mistery to me what they are like..

LPQ,you might either have to see a doc to determine any food alergies, or through trail and error, remove foods from your diet one at a time and see if the swelling improves . Also eliminate junk foods ,drink half your body wieght in grams of water a day,eat natural whole foods and add bran and flax seed for roughage to your diet.
Good luck.
P.S. What are the ingredience of the pills?

A colonic is like a flow of water that continues til you can't stand it anymore. The best ones are in a saddle type of machine, like a cockpit so as to keep clean.
