Thinning blood?

I'm diabetic so have to go the finger stick routine daily. I've noticed for the past week that I'm having trouble getting a good sample on the test strip, even though the drop of blood certainly looks large enough. It used to draw up the blood as soon as I touched the strip to it, but lately the blood drop collapses and I have to swirl the strip around to get a good test.
Yesterday I had some major blood draws done (total of 3draws, 9 6-ml vials). The technician ended up drawing from the second arm for the third draw, the first one was one gigantic black and blue mark, over an inch in diameter. A tiny scratch today not only needed a bandaid but actually leaked under it. A scratch like that used to clot in seconds, and not that long ago.
I'm thinking about this, and thinking my aspirin a day, fish oil supplements and diet leaning heavily on antioxidants may well be causing my blood to thin. I'm already eating a fair amount of high Vitamin K foods, but apparently not enough (my guess here anyway).
Does anybody have any experience with something like this, or some suggestions? Thanks!

Aspirin thins the blood as we well know. So does Vitamin E and I believe fish oils.
Mention it to your doc on your next visit. He may want to run some blood tests to check your coagulation factors.

Coag panel was the phase I was trying to think of when I wrote that.

get your coagulation panels ran, at your age thinner blood isnt the worst thing, but you certainly dont want it too thin, where you start having internal bleeding. talk to your doc!

It's all good now - I cut the aspirin a day back by going to the low dose aspirin - finger sticks are clotting nicely now (and Bg levels have been dropping...woohoo!!)
Thanks guys!

So true, the risk of heart related issues sky rocket, for ladies.
