Pineapple
Strawberries

Choices of Nuts:
Macadamia nuts
Pecans
Almonds
Walnuts

I also use spices:
Cinnamon
Ginger
Ground Cloves
Nutmeg
Allspice
Lemon Peel
Orange Peel
Vanilla (pure vanilla)
Stevia (natural sweetener w/o calories)
Orange Extract

I created a spice mixture that I like to use:
2 tablespoons cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon allspice
I mix with a fork and store in an airtight container. (Season to taste.)

I grew up seeing my grandmother fix oatmeal in milk, which she first simmered with cinnamon sticks in it then added sugar, a little salt and when finished sprinkled with powedered cinnamon. I made my own adaptation by using old fashioned oats, honey and a bit of molasses. Today I have to use soy milk or a combination of coconut milk/water and use mostly Splenda to sweeten it and I sometimes I like to add raisins or a combo of raisins and dried cranberries and/or chopped almonds, yum! I like to vary the spices so I've tried a little powdered cloves or pumpkin spice.

Ok, here is something new for you. make your oatmeal one day in advance let it cool, add two table spoons of yogurt to it and keep it in a warm place for 24 hours or until it sours. Add a frozen banana and put it in a blender with some honey, if it is too thick add a bit of water. What you are getting is a pre-digested food that tastes pretty good and it's full of enzymes! If you want to spice it up a bit more add some coco powder to it. MM
