I have photos on a kodak picture cd & when trying to upload to post on md I can't get the file to open.
If I e-mailed photos to another could this person up load them for me on md?

1) Transfer the files from the CD onto your computer, then upload them from your computer.

OR

2) When you upload the picture, select it from the CD.

Shouldn't be hard to get it uploaded using either method.

i pointed out in another thread that md only accepts .jpg/.jpeg, .bmp and .gif.

if it's .tif/.tiff or another format such as .png etc, it needs to be saved in an acceptable one then uploaded that way.

many cameras and disk software have a unique format that's easily changed to a more universal one.

its like trying to share a microsoft word document with someone who doesn't have word installed in their computer. the document has to be shared in a different or simpler version.

There is a good, free image program called Irfanview that will do this .... change file types for images .... if that helps anyone.

Exactly what the mod said. So you save your photos from the disc to your computer in the .jpg format. It is not a problem to do at all. Once they are on your computer in the correct format then uploading them to MD should not be a problem.
