Fancy schmanzy gizmo stuff .... whats wrong with good old hand coding in notepad?
I have never used it, or any other site building software .... if its anything like frontpage, it may add a lot of extra code, but for people new to building sites, it may be a good way to get started.

CSS is Cascading Style Sheet, this is to control many aspects of a web pages layout and look.

Yes well the .css isn't much good with out linking your page/pages to it. But it does cut down on file overhead. I tried two different HTML/XHTML/XML editors and one JavaScript editor. I didn't like any of them as they don't allow you to see what is going on behind the scenes. And they are not perfect so when an error is made it is very diffictult to track down. Using notepad is not bad but there are other text editors that are specifically designed for various types of coding. The one I use most often is free but they have a nag screen trying to get you to buy it. However you don't have to buy it and it is very diverse. It can be used for web coding or C#, Java, among other main stream object oriented codes. Here is a link for text pad in case any one wants to check it out:

Have you tried HTML Kit?

Yes, css should be placed in an external file, then imported into your pages.

Yes I have tried the HTML kit. It is easier to just write it myself and see what is going on. The only reason I mentioned the link to an external page is that not everyone knows about that or how to do it, although there is plenty of reference material on that so it is not a problem to learn.

Been using Microsoft Expression Web for several months, transitioned easily from Dreamweaver MX and Frontpage 2003. Very intuitive GUI, if your comfortable in MS Office environment you shouldn't have any problem.
