I had many problems with my computer in the past, and thanks for all how helped.
This problem is very minor, but if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
When I hit " Turn of computer" my screen fades slightly, but 9 out of 10 times it does not shut down. So I hit it again, and it asks if certain programs can shut down. ( not always the same ones.) one program is connection manager-usually not responding .
then there is one PAWAIN ( or something like that ) -usually not responding, and when this closes, the computer will finally shut down. I hope I gave you enough info.

I really have no idea what is going on except the obvious which is some program is hanging instead accepting the die message windows sends when it is shutting down.
The first thing I would look at is that PAWAIN, find out what it is, why it is then maybe you can solve it’s hanging.

Sorry the program that won't shut down on it's own is, _PTAWIA. any clue what that is?

WIA ( Windows Image Acquisition), is a Kodak software driver for XP used for cameras and scanners which not is compatible with IE7. You can prevent it from start-up in misconfig. You can activate it as you need it. Hope this helps.

Hey Angel how is your eye coming along?
Your problem blue is common and normal. Nothing to be concerned about but a little annoying at times. You can either turn the programs off as Angel said or you can just click the end now button when the warning window comes up.
