Was recently "phished" at myspace. When I went to log in they had blocked my account and said I needed to change my password as I'd been phished. Is there anything I can do in the future to prevent this from happening again?myspace had no suggestions. I only access myspace from my home computer and I'm the only one who uses this computer.

That is not how one is phished. See the following link for details on phishing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phishing
It sounds like someone was trying access your MySpace account by guessing your password. MySpace probably has a safeguard in place that locks an account when someone repeatedly tries to sign in with an incorrect password. Yahoo has such a security feature that locks an account after three failed attempts to sign into Yahoo Mail and Messenger.
If you had truly been phished, you would have been fooled into giving some unscrupulous individual your username and password and your account would have been hijacked.
There is little a person can do to stop someone from trying to access an account by simply guessing a password. It is best to use passwords that are next to impossible to guess. The use of UPPER and lower case letters along with numbers is strongly advised. For even better security, a password should be a random selection of characters. Use punctuation symbols if they are accepted by the system in question. Non-standard characters such as ¢ £ ¤ ¥ § © ª µ Å Æ Ð offer even better protection. Make your passwords the maximum length allowable. Obviously, following these guidelines makes for passwords that are difficult for a person to remember. That is the price one pays for security.
I use the Wand feature of the Opera web browser. Wand is a password manager which remembers usernames (or email addresses) and passwords and fills them in with a single mouse click. I have never had a security breach as a result of using the Wand.

Only log in from your bookmarked link. If you are confronted by one of those screens at the wrong time, close your browser, log in again the usual way and report the incident to Tom.

M/S IE 7.0 has an automatic anti-phishing feature built in. It seems to be pretty stabile at this point. Many of the anti-spyware products offer anti-phishing service as well.

Myspace is not a good place to make friends or meet new people!! its way to easy for hackers to access your account. the best way to make new friends is to get out more. or use a chat room. beware of bots in chat rooms!
I can confirm that Myspace users accounts are getting hacked in to. a family member of mine was logged in and I called them up to to see just what was going on cause there was some bad things posted about me. well come to find out they were not logged on to Myspace after all.
so be aware when you use sites similar!

...cause there was some bad things posted about me. well come to find out they were not logged on to Myspace after all. I can hear them (ur family member) now... it wasn't me, it was a... another person.... yeah, that's the ticket,... it was another person and that's the story and I am sticking to it.
As for me, I have a myspace account, a youtube account, associated other acount and out of several years I have had no incidents; except, the email from paypal (wink, wink) which indicated I needed to change my password. So, I click on the email link and it wants me to enter my name, credit card #, etc... at that point I looked at the address bar and realised I was not at paypal site. Yikes! I promptly reported it... and that domain was shut down within hours.
I've met people who sail in europe and usa and we exchange info. Myspace does tend to be a younger crowd, and I think I will open a facebook account. FYI: Social networking,... look into it! (just my $.02 worth)
Anybody on linkedin and into technology, let's network...
