Any suggestions as to which relatively inexpensive programs could be used to edit a VOB file (cut it into short clips)then convert it to a file type that could be uploaded to myspace. To have the end result streaming would be ideal if that's possible. If not, just something compressed enough that it doesn't take forever to play.
Thanks

I guess inexpensive is the operative word. I use Pinnacle Ultimate Studio 11.1 because of the features it offers and the price was only $99 with a rebate available if you have other editing software.

So now I've got Ulead videostudio and a bunch of free software for editing/converting etc.
Last week I captured a bunch of video from a camcorder using Ulead videostudio. saved as.avi files about 3/4 gigabytes each as I'd expect. However no player will play the files. I can drag the slider and see that all the frames are there, but they can't be played, and no error message comes up. (I exported them from Ulead to my external harddrive unedited) they can't be played by any player on either the external harddrive the the main harddrive.
Also tried to convert to mpeg with "convertanyvideo" free software. It says "completed" almost instantly (normally would take a couple minutes), but the new file it creates is 0kB.
Any idea what happened, or how to remedy it? I don't still have the camcorder to capture the video again to the harddrive.

Have you tried looking at a previous thread? There were some good answers there. Maybe one will work for you, it did for me.

So after much wasted time I've downloaded windows movie maker. Although it crashes about twice per hour, at least it works.
