all 3 have the same music on them.. music match takes the most space now and i dont really need it since the other 2 will copy/ burn music.. is there any advantage to keeping the 3rd player?? Sweet N Louisiana

I had a similar question and didn't wan't to overpost a thread.

Is there a media interface that handles a variety of formats like "media player classic"? That was the precursor, I believe to media player. It handles a lot more formats than media player and since I don't have a ton of drive space, I don't want more than one. I believe it also writes and plays those formats.

Hmmm... I think I just answered my own question. I'll have to look and make sure it's still on the drive. In the upgrade to sevice pack 2 I think they removed it but there is still a download from the microsoft download site I believe. When installing you have the option of what media formats you would like to install, it says more doesn't neccessarily mean that it will work better, but when I downloaded most of them (for video viewing and such) it worked great. I believe it is just as handy for music formats.

I'm not sure if it converts though. Like if you wanted to convert cd's to mp3's and such.

BTW- I found it under "K-Lite Codec Pack".
