The Bluetooth 2.0 specification (which has been around since 2004) has a 3.0Mbit transfer rate and 128-bit encryption. The data rate for a cable would exceed this, but by the time one could get a cable connected on both ends, most mobile telephone backups/synchronizations using bluetooth would have long since completed.   Apr 10 @ 4:54 PM Bluetooth     happygrlok Posts: 3,851 I had the same problem with my bluetooth. I took my to the AT&T guy and he fixed it for me in about two minutes. Now I am waiting to have one installed in my new car. The company sold so many they are on back order.
