Posts: 2,779 I bought a used Pentium 3.0 gig computer,I want to just format and erase the Hard Drive and put on a new install of Windows XP.
The computer does have a pro version of limewire installed that I would like to save to CD or external HD before I erase everything.
If I can figure out how to save this program, I'll just reinstall Limewire pro after the new Windows install.

What is the best way to do this?
I was thinking I could use the search function and search the C drive for the Limewire.exe.
What do ya think is the best way to save this program ?

Ok

search the web, what you want to find where limewire stores it's KEY. Once you find that you can (most likely) download the newest version off the web, enter your key and away you go

Posts: 3,663 It's highly likely that Limewire, like most programs, updates the System Registry as part of the installation process. Merely copying the folders created by the installation is rarely enough.

If you have the installation files, it will be easy. If all you have is a computer with Limewire installed on it, you are probably out of luck.

BTW, the is much more to Limewire than just an EXE file: there are many DLL's and JAR's for example.

Yeah that is all I have.
To bad there is no way to do this.
