I have searched on the net for advice and done what is supposed to be necessary to enable me to uninstall it, but I still can't get it off.

Posts: 2,800 Additionally if there remain any remnants after program uninstall go START>RUN>REGEDIT>EDIT>FIND>Google then delete all google components from your registry. That will be the end of Google earth and any other google components you may suffer from.

I had tried several times to uninstall it via the control panel.

Then I searched the net to see what needed to be done to enable me to uninstall it.

- I had to renew my 'Installshield' - I did that, but it still won't uninstall.

It will not uninstall.

Would you please share with us what happens when you attempt this? You receive an error message, perhaps?

Posts: 1,187 I click the option to uninstall Google Earth and it goes into the set up Wizard, rather than uninstall...it pauses for a long time, then comes up with

Error 0x80040706

If I click the other option to 'change' it does the same as above and gives the same error.

Posts: 3,098 FWIW, the problem was not with Google Earth, but rather with the installation/deinstallation program, most likely InstallShield.

I just uninstalled Google Earth and am now re-installing it. They now have their own installation program (google Updater)!!!
