Photobucket problem

I clicked on my browser link to photobucket because an image that was sent to me didn't show and it's properties were from PB. I came up with some strange site. I'm not making it clickable.

http://www.atspace.com/dedicated-web-server-hosting-domain-articles-news/index.html

Anyway...after a "wtf", I clicked on the other PB link I have for a group album and it says "server not found". This was done on firefox, so I tried to access photobucket on IE and the same crap came up.

Anyone else having this problem?

I'm still logged in from earlier today. I just hit refresh and bounced around my album and everything's ok. I'll try logging out then back in, ok?

BRB.

============

Nope, no problem. Spybot pops up on every page though, warning about ad-click (tracking cookie)...but that's been going on ever since I updated Spybot. ~grrr~ (I have to click "deny" on every page every time )

It kind of sounds like the picture you were sent may have been screwy in the first place (wrong url? )

Try rebooting (not restarting) your computer -- Photobucket is online...at least for me.

Well crud. I emptied my cookies, cache and history with the inex.dat analyzer and it's still a problem. I keep getting that same site. Hmmm.....I wonder if this is why they were telling us all to change our passwords.

I'll go through some spyware programs and reboot.

'Course, I've not been having a problem with my computer shutting down on it's own and I haven't even downloaded the SP3.

I wonder if your browser was hijacked -- but you used both IE and Firefox

LOL, I googled the at.space url and came up with this in Spanish -- then did a Google translation. I haven't a clue what it means, even in English.

Thanks Nah. I'll do that tomorrow since I've been up all night. I have noticed on a lot of forums, though, that avatars that were linked to photobucket or smilies, etc. weren't showing up. Check the emoticon threads and Gray's, Robo's and Luvvy's emo's only have a box. Is that just me, too?

Perhaps Nah can help her download and execute Hijackthis which should show up any possible hijacking code. Trend Micro recently acquired the program (but it is still free) and can be found here.

Pali, I'm having the same problem!!!

I just went to this thread HERE and I can see all images posted EXCEPT THE ONES I POSTED!!! I can't log on to Photobucket and this is driving me NUTS!

If I ran HijackThis (I have the program) and posted, would anybody be able to make heads or tails of the data?

I find it a bit odd that Pali and I are both having this problem, considering that we live 45 mins from each other.

While awaiting for a Hijackthis report to be posted, I went to the command prompt and entered PING WWW.PHOTOBUCKET.COM Besides showing that Photobucket is indeed accessible (without using a browser), PING returned Photobucket's IP address.

As a test for those unable to get to Photobucket, type in 209.17.66.11 in the address bar instead of WWW.PHOTOBUCKET.COM.

Pali and EF, do you both have the same ISP?

I logged into PhotoBucket just fine again today. Occasionally I'll find that pages are loading slowly with a number of red x-boxes, but that's when I know I need to dump my cookies and reboot. I don't think that's related to your problems, though.

EF, I can see all the pics you posted. Horizon's is an x, but that's probably because HumorArchives doesn't allow hotlinking for an extended time.

Photobucket has been hacked.

IMPORTANT! Photobucket.com problem read here:
Last night Photobucket.com {email address removed} was hacked by malicious people that are trying to compromise our business!
We are in no way affiliated with such bad deeds and cooperate with photobucket in capturing these individuals.
They have pointed the domain photobucket.com to an account hosted on our systems!
We have blocked that and photobucked techs have restored the domain pointing to its original location!
ALL account information and pictures on photobucket.com are OK, please have patience!
Unfortunately the complete DNS replication usually takes 24-48 hours and during this time caches DNS records might still point to us!
The normal operation of Photobucket is restored and as soon as the replication is complete there should be no further such issues!
We would like to emphasize that we are in now way responsible for what happens with photobucket and all users bumping across our systems!
We are a legitimate web hosting company operating since 2003 and in no way tolerate such hacking attempts!
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at {email address removed}!
Thanks for your patience and understanding!

I am still getting redirected to the atspace link, EF. And anyone 's smilies or images that they have posted on here or anywhere else on the web don't show up for me. I just get the colored box (not longer re x's, eh?) I use Comcast for my ISP.

I also have Hijack.this. I suppose it won't do any good to post a screenshot.

Pali...didn't you see my post, hon? Photobucket was hacked yesterday. Some people weren't affected, but others were. It could be another day or two before it's back up the way it should be.

Yes, darlin. I read your message and went to read the article and couple of others, too. What I think its strange, though, is that Robo is able to post his smiles (obviously not affected by the hack), yet I can't see them.

In that forum you linked to, the reason horizon's images show up are because they aren't hotlinked to photobucket...yours are.

I think I'll take my browser link to photobucket off. I'm also curious if this hack to PB will affect my computer. As for my accounts there...I have a whole whack of pictures that I put on photobucket when I was in Canada because I needed to empty my camera for the camping trip. I still haven't put those pictures on to my computer. :(

Everything I can find on the hack says that all accounts at photobucket are safe, and I had a friend in Canada check my stuff today and it's all there. It was a DNS hack, so it won't affect your computer at all.

Photobucket users across the world are reporting minor outages of the service and problems when trying to access their accounts, the consequence of what looks like the type of DNS records hijacking that redirected Comcast.net to a third-party domain last month.

The hacking group [NetDevilz, out of Turkey] appears to have been using the hosting services of atspace.com, the web hosting service of Zetta hosting solutions, and users of Photobucket attempting to access the site with the old DNS entries are still being redirected to a default hosting ad page within atspace.com. The effect of the redirection can also be seen by taking a peek at the publicly obtainable stats for atspace.com, where the sudden peak in traffic resulting in 118,864 visitors for today came from the default ad page used in the redirection.

With the second DNS hijacking attack against a high-profile domain in the recent months, it seems that adaptive malicious parties unable to directly compromise a site will continue taking advantage of good old-fashioned DNS hijacking. At least to prove that it’s still possible even on a high-profile domain using the services of a Tier 1 domain registrar.

RE: Photobucket's DNS records hijacked by Turkish hacking group
That's all very well... but where the heck is MY Bucket? I still have no acces and can not see anyone's pictures on other websites that are hosted with PhotoBucket!!! Why NOT?

I am not the only one still suffering for this issue!!!!

It looks like those of us who have PhotoBucket (or not) and weren't affected can still see your posted pics -- just the people who were affected can't.

I wish I could remember the names and passwords for all my other PB accounts from a long time ago. There are some precious priceless pictures on there ~sigh~ Now I wouldn't go there, even if I knew how.
