I've had it on my system for several months. I think it is far better than Micro$ofts's previous browsers, but not up to the standards set by Firefox and Chrome.
I use it when forced to by sites that only support that browser.

If I navigate to Micro$oft's update service http://update.microsoft.com, I receive the following message:
Thank you for your interest in obtaining updates from our site.
To use this site, you must be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later.
To upgrade to the latest version of the browser, go to the Internet Explorer Downloads website.
If you prefer to use a different web browser, you can obtain updates from the MicroSoft Download Center or you can stay up to date with the latest critical and security updates by using Automatic Updates. To turn on Automatic Updates:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2. Depending on which Control Panel view you use, Classic or Category, do one of the following: * Click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab. * Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab. 3. Click the option that you want. Make sure Automatic Updates is not turned off.
Other sites, such as Yahoo Sports offer a service to track multiple football games that also requires Internet Explorer. It's because these sites use ActiveX scripts which are not part of the internet standards and have been responsible for many of the security problems that Micro$oft has experienced.
In short, there is no "standard" message that is issued--it is up to each web site's scripts to determine the browser being used and issue a relevant message...if they have written non-standard code for their pages.

And I've suggested to her that she give Firefox and/or Google Chrome a try.
The new (3.5) Firefox is f-a-s-t!

I have firefox 3.0, and I clicked on update, but it is not letting me upgrade to 3.5. I guess I'll have to uninstall 3.0 and install 3.5?

Firefox 3.5 is currently a beta release but is due out very soon. Just wait a little longer....
Edited to add:
According to Firefox tests, Firefox 3.5 is two times faster than 3.0. And ten times faster than 2.0.

FF 3.5 Beta Speed tests
If you haven't tried Firefox, give it a shot ... it's free, has tons of add-ons, and is more secure.
