Last night I went to bed and my laptop was just fine.

This morning I got up, and the power cord was wound neatly on the floor, meaning that my daughter took my laptop downstairs last night to play on MySpace.

As the sun rose this morning, I got a glare on my monitor, so I went to adjust the screen.....and heard a popping sound.

I checked the monitor and on the right hand side, at the base of the monitor, the back of the casing is separated from the front. It looks like it should just pop right back in, but I can't do it. While I was inspecting the damage, I closed the computer up a bit more and....BLACK SCREEN. F*CK!! After a hard reboot and mandatory disk check demanded by my system, the screen is back, but I can't adjust the angle of the monitor, I can't close my laptop, and the screen wobbles if the computer is moved!

My daughter vehemently denies it, but I suspect she dropped my laptop.

So, the screen is back, but as I said, I can't adjust the monitor in any way, and I can now see a gap between the glass and the plastic monitor casing in the front. Also, the gap between at the very bottom of the casing gets larger if I try to close the monitor at all...

Is this fixable?

It is not the hinge...the hinge is fine.

What appears to have happened here is that the screw in the lower right corner has somehow popped free of its casing. I'm going to attempt to fix it myself in the morning
