 A few days ago I saw an error  on my computer and I went to my computer and it got all rearrange.....I rebooted did a scan and everything to get that error out........it's all fine now I went to go to My Computer and clicked on it but ......I want my thing to move back the way it was where your ahem  hard disk are an stuff........they all moved I want it to be put back the way I used to see it..............can anyone help me

On a more serious note, please specify which operating system you are using if you need our help. Vista functions quite differently from XP and Windows 98.

This is just a guess as you did not provide much information, but you may accidentally have switched between Category View and Classic View in the control panel. To change it back, follow these steps:
Click "Start" and then click "Control Panel". The Control Panel should open.
If the Control Panel is in Category View, click "Switch to Classic View" on the left of the window.
If the Control Panel is in Classic View, click "Switch to Category View" on the left of the window.
You can use the "Switch to.." link to toggle the Control Panel view as desired.

oops sorry Rare...........I am very exhausted......it was suppose to be My Computer and the shared documents ect should be at the bottom now there on top an then my hard disk drives should or were on top..........I want it to go back as it was...... I just like the way it was...........

Go to My Computer. Do NOT select any icons. Press the right click button on your mouse instead. You will see a menu of options. Choose "'Arrange icons by" and click on that and then choose the option "show in groups". (I hope this helps. It has been a couple of years since I last used XP.  )

You can change, ( or fix ) your icons at anytime you are looking at your desk top.
And there are different options.... I like to try all of them, just to know what I like the best.
