The System Registry is one of Microsoft's poorest design decisions. It is heavily used, can be updated almost at will, and its entries are never reused when they are deleted or rendered obsolete.
I did not install and evaluate the tool in question, but if it performs the tasks that it states, provides an opportunity to backup and/or undo changes, and receives regular maintenance from the supplier (updates are required as new software updates the registry), it should be a good tool. There are many of these tools available for download; I personally use CCleaner for this purpose because it performs many related tasks as well.
In addition to cleaning the Registry, you might also consider occasionally running a Registry defragmentation program.

Ccleaner........... or Ccleaner.com is a tool to clean out the crap in your puter......( it used to be called crap cleaner)
If you read many of the post in the computer & technology thread, it comes up often, and is widely used, and no one has ever mentioned a problem.
It will clear your cookies, empty your trash, clean out your temporary internet files.....ect...... It will also delete your saved user names/passwords...... but you can check a box for each site you do not wish to alter....
I use it at least once a week.
There is also a tab to check for " issues" . These are programs or whatever you have deleted, but not totally..... It cleans all this up to help improve the speed.....
I have used a registry cleaner that was sent to me by one of our members... I had over 300 that were cleaned out..... My speed was drastically improved.....
I do have a question about Ccleaner........... each time I search for issues, it asks me to back up my system just in case....... How long do I save each one of these? Can I simply remove them since I have never had a problem?

I tend to keep the last two registry backups that it creates. Like you, I have never had cause to revert to a saved version of the registry.
Two notes about CCleaner: when fixing the registry entries, rescan after it fixes the list of problems. I repeat the process until no errors are found. Secondly, make sure to allow CClearner to check for updates to the program or do so manually on a regular basis.
