Well, after several long, months of writing to Empath here on MD, I finally met her! She and I have been writing daily since we found each other. We talk on the phone daily. We seemed to connect on many levels and found that (at least over the phone) enjoyed each other’s company. Plans were made for us to meet in neutral territory in Seattle. Red69Sun was going to put us up for a couple of days while we made sure that each of us was genuine. As the day drew nearer, it looked like the trip would not happen; too many things were occurring that might cause this little trip to be canceled. It finally came together at the absolute last minute.
We have had an absolute blast together. She is a stunning, wonderful woman that I cannot wait to be with forever. She is Canadian and I am American, so we face an uphill battle getting her into the States. Woo Hoo, I cannot wait to have her here with me!!!

I would like to also thank Red69Sun for putting up two strange people in her home. It takes a special kind of person to do something like that. Red is one of the coolest people that it has ever been my pleasure to meet.

Yes, after several long months of communicating, DistressedJester and I finally met. They say that love will fall in your lap when you least expect it, and sure enough, that is exactly what happened!
We were both searching for people to talk to on this website, and though we did find some fabulous friends, we also managed to find each other. Planning the trip was definitely an experience that produced some anxiety, as every obstacle that could get in the way, did so. However, we both believed that if it was meant to be, it would be.
And it was. It was a wonderful two weeks for me. DistressedJester is everything I could hope for, and then so much more. I have never felt so special or cared about in my entire life, and I am not exaggerating that feeling. I feel that we do connect on many levels, and NOT just over the phone.
As the moment to meet got closer, my nerves frayed and I could think of little else. I was so afraid that he would be disappointed in the reality I presented. He didn't seem to be though. I once again walk around with a smile on my face, and laugh at the silliest things. I guess that is what happiness does to one newly in love.
Moving to the States is just about the scariest thing I will have ever done,  and it will be a long, drawn out process, but if that is what I have to do to be with this man, then that is what I will do. There is no place I would rather be, than in his life. Permanently. It saddens me to think of the months, and possibly years, we will be apart until it all comes together, but we will survive. Love finds its own way. I just still can't believe it found me!!

And thank you also, to Red69Sun, for putting up two (very) strange people. It was a risk on her part, but was well worth it, I hope, as a deep friendship will hopefully follow. Thank the Powers That Be for wonderful people like her!!
I would also like to thank DJ, for the wonderful things he said! Baby, you make my world a beautiful place to be.

Best of wishes to you both. I also have a love from another country, so we're facing the same thing. But like you said, love will find it's own way. However long it takes, whatever it takes, all we want it to be together.
I SO relate to your story, thanks for sharing, it warmed my heart!!

Yes, thank you for the warm wishes. It is heartening to hear positive feedback where this internet relationship is concerned. It is not something I hear often from the people I interact with on a daily basis...even though my uncle first met on the internet, and later married, a gal from Australia.
DJ....does this mean we'll be getting .....you know....the 'm' word???

Geez guys (and gals) thank you.......it was a delight and a privilage to meet you two and facilitate your success...I played not only hostess, but duenna (who'd of thought).....and to see everything unfold in front of me.......It makes you believe that there is someone out there for us mere mortals too.....And sometimes, if you don't take a risk.........how will you ever experience such delights and wonderful people.......you just have to trust the universe sometimes!
It was kind of like the Christmas movie......with Natlie Wood as a child.....Miracle on 34th Street.......and repeating over and over......."I believe, I believe"........you two are very inspirational people....good, old souls.........and are like two peas in a pod. I am soooooooo happy you found each other.

Congratulations.. and I truly believe in what you said about love falling in your lap when you least expect it Empath. I follow the metaphysics thread, but by no means am I as educated in that field, so I rarely post.. but thought you both may enjoy this Cherokee wedding prayer... (there is a whole cherokee wedding ceremony ritual which is how, if I ever find that man that makes my life better and we agree to marry, it will be done) but I thought this was beautiful and wanted to share it with the two of you and your love for each other....

Thank you Sweet N Louisiana, and Luvs. Prayer is a huge part of my life, but usually more for others.
I would be very interested in the rest of that ceremony, and think I will research it a little later today, if I get the chance. Know of any informative links, perchance?
Regarding the metaphysics thread, I remember seeing a post or two from you, and I will be posting one there for you today, in answer to what you have said here.
